It is lovely here. Very comfortable, quiet and visually gorgeous. So much to take in, no matter the time of day. The little lake and pond support a full ecosystem that we can observe and the bird varieties are plentiful. This is an artist or birdwatcher paradise. We'll be back...

We spent three days two nights at Hacienda Jacana in February 2017. One night is just not enough! The location in the East of Trinidad is easily accessible with fairly good quality roads from multiple access ways in Trinidad and takes no longer than an hour and a half drive from most locations. The drive passed through very scenic, rural,...

Absolutely beautiful. Very quiet and relaxing and not inaccessible. Hacienda Jacana is just what you need to unwind whether it be by the pool or just relaxing watching television, reading.. Although there is internet service I can promise that you wont miss it. The houses are lovely and well equipped with everything you need and the hosts are very friendly...

Nestled in the centre of Trinidad is this beautiful, peaceful retreat where one can enjoy the soft rustle of the wind through the tropical rain forest trees, the happy whizzing of numerous species of hummingbirds gorging on syrup from the bird feeders, so many other bird species, caimans, immortelle trees, and just the wonderful goodness and beauty of nature. So...

This is the second time that we have stayed at the magical Hacienda Jacana. We have family who live in Grenada, and we thought that this would be an ideal spot to vacation together. This plan proved to be ideal, and we all had a great time. Currently, it's freezing cold and grim back home, and it was lovely to...

We loved our cabin. Spent lots of time birding from the deck and watching the hummingbirds. The grounds were beautiful and we saw so much. Helen and Jesse have created a private, peaceful haven for wildlife and people. if we get to come back, we will definitely stay longer. Simon kindly provided transportation to Caroni swamp and to Asa Wright....

An important client of mine suggested Hacienda Jacana as a get away for when my wife came to visit in Trinidad. From what he had told me, I expected a totally relaxing and beautiful natural getaway in the Trinidad bush. I am happy to report it was all that and more! From the moment we arrived we knew this place...

Let me predicate this review of Hacienda Jacana (H.J.) on the foundation that the ideal vacation for me is one spent at the beach, (whether bathing is possible or not), once I can feel that fresh ocean breeze, hear those crashing waves & see the sunrise or sunset depending on which coast I'm on, I will have a great time....

Excellent place if you need to get away from the hustle of daily life. It is on a large area of land with wooden cabins and beautiful natural scenery. Canoes are available and there is a grill for cooking. The hosts are very nice. My only minor issue is that I wish the pool was bigger.

This tranquil Eco resort in the lush forest of Talparo provides a quiet get away. The rustic, clean yet modern accommodation and sumptuous meals feels just like home. The natural "hummingbird show" that constantly played out on our front porch while we ate and " hung out" was a true highlight of our visit. The personal touch by the owners...
