This is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited. It is truly in the middle of nowhere - unless you consider the Tobeatic Wilderness of Nova Scotia somewhere. No cell service, no TV (although there is limited wifi in the main lodge). A gorgeous rustic lodge, located down a single one-lane dirt road, on a beautiful stream...

Wonderful treat to spend a pampered weekend in a very rustic setting. Very Quiet. No cell service becomes minuscule. Fine food at all meals, good wine selections, lovely staff, comfy beds, beauty in all directions. This was our honeymoon getaway and my birthday on Monday! When you depart route 8 which feels quite "out there" it only gets better as...

My boyfriend and I booked the Trout Point Lodge for one night during a two week road trip in eastern Canada. We rated our stay as a 3/5 because there were some really good points to it but there were some other aspects that were less than desirable. Overall, it was a different experience and we don't regret our decision...

Had a lovely stay at TPL but for the price you pay you would expect that. Room was great very comfy beds and nice big bathtub (although there was a leak in our ceiling from the room above) staff were very friendly when we first arrived and we were shown around and told where everything was. The atmosphere around the...

1. The Setting - In the eyes of non-Canadians, Canada is viewed as having one of the highest ratios of wilderness versus developed land in the world. This perception is quite accurate, but if you asked most Canadians about wilderness areas, in all likelihood they would respond by mentioning the three arctic territories or northern Ontario or Quebec. I doubt...

Trout Point surpassed all expectations. We were greeted at our car by Ulysses and never touched a bag. Throughout our stay he worked hard to make sure every need was met and every question answered. Our lunch was exquisitely cooked and served by Kara. Justin gave a wonderful, educational Pasta Cooking Class and the lodge and our tree house room...

We stayed for 3 nights in August and had an absolutely wonderful time. It was a perfect honeymoon escape for us - quiet, relaxing, and extremely friendly. As I can see from other posts, there are some guests that are disappointed with the value and that there are many charges. Trout Point was very up front about this and I...

You can feel the stress melt away the moment you arrive in this stunningly beautiful lodge in a remote location in the Tobeatic Wilderness. This place is very well-appointed and equipped. It offers an impressive range of outdoor activities (swim in the river, relax in the amazing wood-fired riverside hot tub, check out the cedar barrel sauna, get a massage,...

This is a unique place with strong pluses and minuses. In some ways, it is wonderful. But there are some drawbacks that really ought to be corrected for it to live up to the reputation proclaimed on the website. It is a small beautifully done lodge next to a river in the middle of a wilderness. Our room was in...

Thank you so much for the kind words regarding your one-night stay at Trout Point! We have a great staff this season, including a mix of locals, French Canadians, Europeans, and experts like our astrophysicist! Regarding your concerns about ticks, ticks occur throughout all of Nova Scotia in fields and forests. Actually, the areas where there are deer ticks that...
