When planning our tour of Acadia Country, we stumbled on these cottages - what a find. The three of us very comfortably stayed in Cooks Cottage. Upon our afternoon arrival, had wine & cheese waiting for us to enjoy as we sat under the oaks and enjoyed the lake and garden views. For the morning, enjoyed the coffee and breakfast...

Rip Van Winkle Garden Cottages are the farthest thing from a generic roadside hotel, and a totally unique experience. It's the kind of special lodging that you will remember (fondly) for a long time. We stayed in the Cook's Cottage for two nights. The cottage itself is adorable, with a wide front porch and two rocking chairs. Inside is very...

Very friendly staff took care to anticipate all our needs. Cooks Cottage is larger, but closer to public areas - the Servants Quarter Cottages are smaller, but very quiet and private. This is a breathtaking setting and perfect for a couples getaway.

I don't write many five star reviews but Rip Van Winkle more than deserved it! We stayed in Cooks Cottage which is nicely appointed. The wine, snacks, and full size coffee maker were much appreciated as was the comfortable bed. The real treat however lies outside the cottage. We were the only guests so had the entire place to ourselves...

We are natives of Louisiana but had never heard of this place. We found it while making plans to tour Avery Island. What luck!!! The cottage was precious and feels as if you have stepped back in time. Snacks and a bottle of wine are included in the price. We made several trips through the gardens and found different paths...

We spent four nights here. Enjoyed every minute. Wanted privacy, relaxation, and beauty and got it all! Watched the beautiful sunsets over the lake two nights. Garden paths are not lighted, but moon and light rock helps. The grounds were lovely......can only imagine how beautiful and fragrant they are in the spring/summer months. Room is nicely appointed....could use one more...

I highly recommend this place to stay if in this area. We stayed in the Cook's Cottage and it was wonderful. Plenty of room and bed is very comfortable. Bathroom is huge and has a high toilet seat and great grab bars for safety. The snacks and drinks in the room are very thoughtful especially since this place is out...

We spent Wednesday and Thursday nights there. Wednesday we were the only people in the garden after hours! How nice! The two of us and the two dogs (no extra charge for the dogs either!) walked the whole garden late evening and early morning. Wow! They provide two bagels and a few sweet pastries with jelly and cream cheese. Also...

We stayed at Cooks Cottage for one night. It was very nice, comfortable, and clean. It was a very peaceful evening walking through the beautiful gardens, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the calm atmosphere. We loved seeing the peacocks on the grounds strutting their stuff!

My daughter brought me for an overnight stay last month and we enjoyed it so much we booked both Servant's Quarter rooms and brought my husband and granddaughter for a stay. We all enjoyed walking the gardens then relaxing with our glass of wine with the peacocks in the afternoon and racoons peaking at us from behind the porch in...
