Wonderful place!!! Staff Was amazing the minute we stepped in the door. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The shuttle from the airport was perfect. I have only wonderful things to say. The manager David L’Heureux went out of his way to make our stay special. The restaurant in the hotel he’s very good. The room itself was very comfortable and clean. If you are in Bangor this place is tops.

We stayed at the Residence Inn Bangor while in the area for a family wedding. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. A shuttle was available to help get us to wedding events. The hotel is incredibly clean and smells really good. The pool area was well kept and towels set out on lounge chairs. Breakfast was bountiful and had many excellent choices to start the day. The only, the one and only thing I saw to improve was the quality of the toilet paper. It just doesn’t match the rest of the experience!

I spent one evening here with a large group for work. Check-in was smooth and the room was large and comfortable. I think the breakfast was decent given the hotel's effort to mitigate COVID risks. The hotel is just across the street from the Hollywood Casino, a short walk to McDonald's, a convenience store/gas station, and has a great restaurant located on the ground floor (the best part of our stay). I would certainly say here again.

My spouse and I are elderly and disabled/handicapped. We had booked a stay here at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Bangor Maine. There is only one. We booked from the 17th-20th of May because we were moving to a new home. Everything was going well until the 19th at approximately 1000 when there was a short pounding on the door. By the time we got to the door no one was there. Just before noon, there was again, another pounding on the door. We do not have family here and we had not requested any services from housekeeping, room services, or maintenance so we had no idea who would be there. Our room had the "no service" take on the door on the knob and the deadbolt lock for no service and the latch on. My spouse went to the door and a gentleman is standing at the door in a uniform holding a box asking to come into our room. He asked "what is this about?" and the gentleman explained he is from "maintenance". My spouse asked "What maintenance are you talking about? We didn't ask for any services or maintenance and we are here through Thursday at 12:00 noon and actually" that we had just the day before extended our stay one more day and that we were going to be leaving the room". The gentleman said "okay" and he would come back. Again my spouse said "For what? What are you coming into the room for?" He only stated he would be back some time later. I asked my spouse to call the front desk and see if there was any reason that they had sent maintenance up to the room and they had not. They asked if the individual was in a "uniform" or "had a badge?" He explained that through the door he could see the gentleman was in a uniform and holding a box but had no idea why he came to our room either and that we were concerned about safety. He requested then to speak to the manager of this Residence Inn. After some hours, we had decided not to the leave the room until we had an answer, my spouse called again to the speak to the manager and was told by the front desk that "he would call". The manager finally calls around 1615 and says that the employee had a "wrong list" and that he would talk to the head of the maintenance department about it. We were still concerned about public safety and that why would you not call a patron to let them know services were needed in our particular room. The manager's only response was "He didn't check and had the wrong list". Again not happy with that because of safety issues and voicing our concerns the manager's only response was "Well I will talk with them and would you like some clean towels?" We were both dumbfounded and saying "Well towels aren't really the issue here safety is. Patrons pay the higher prices for these rooms expecting to be safe and to have services that make sense. Why would the front desk or someone not call the patron and let them know someone, anyone, would be being sent to the room. After all, housekeeping services are not even given unless requested. The door had a "no service tag" on it and the dead bolts and latch was on". He had no answer just offered towels. My spouse then asked for the corporate Vice President's contact information which he received. He then called the corporate Vice President (who interestingly enough called my spouse by the hotel manager's name when he answered the phone "Hi David") who's only comment was "well nothing happened" and that he didn't see a concern since he has "been in the business for 40-years and this is how all places run". I responded that this was ridiculous considering that patrons here are vulnerable to the facility and what they allow and this is not how things are run. I had worked with the Marriott's in the past and Marriott always takes security issues as being very important. His only response was "well nothing happened and if you don't want anything then there is nothing I can do". My spouse said "how about review your communication policies and services for security of your patrons". His response again was "well nothing happened and we are only human". My spouse asked for the corporate contact number and he said "call 1800Marriott". His flippant attitude was enough and we then found the correct contact information to speak to the Marriott corporation then to at least get someone to listen to our concerns. My spouse followed up calling the corporate complaint office (Loyalty Department) who then listened to our concerns and filed a case number. The message then goes to Consumer Affairs. I would never recommend especially this particular location over safety and the lack of concern by the management and corporate VP. People staying in these facilities expect safety. There are many vulnerable people that come through their facilities not just elderly and handicapped/disabled, but women, children, and people that have limited ability to protect themselves such as being in wheelchairs. The companies lack of concern even up to the VP level over our particular experience is so much more and I do not believe someone should have to be taken advantage or hurt by a companies lack of concern over their customers' safety because of their internal communications issues and inability to communicate with patrons. This was a horrible experience and really should be addressed with some better level of security by this company and if you are vulnerable in any way, stay away from this facility as they do not have any concern for your safety.

Performing routine maintenance is a very important part of our every day operation and allows us to continue to offer the best product to our guests. We are also taking the pandemic seriously and we are taking additional efforts to protect our guests. Part of that process is constantly changing air filters in our guest rooms to provide the best air quality possible. On this particular day, our maintenance department was changing air filters on the floor you were staying on. In speaking with our associate, he did not see a do not disturb sign on your door, however it is always a policy that we would knock on any hotel door and announcing ourselves. I am sorry if in fact our department overlooked a sign on your door and disturbed you by knocking on the door. Thank you again for choosing our hotel. David L'Heureux General Manager

I wasn't planning to stay in Bangor, but my clutch failed and it took Subaru 2 days to get the part and fix it. This hotel is sparkling clean, and the rooms smell great. Front desk staff are really helpful. You can reserve a time to use the workout room. It has several treadmills, a bike, weights and a few other things. Then you can reserve a different time to use the indoor pool and hot tub. It is just you in there. For breakfast, you go to the kitchen and they hand you as much as you like of the buffet. Two kinds of fresh fruit, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs from a pre-made mix (had enough of that in the Army), Chobani Greek yoghurts, cereals, milk, breads, peanut butter etc. Tea bags, coffee, cream...huge light filled lobby with couches and fires, which will be good after Covid ends. Nice restaurant on site with really good food. As in, people who are not staying at the hotel actually drive to this restaurant to eat there.
