Recently renovated hotel, so there was a decent amount of construction dust around the stairwell and entrance area. Hotel is hear Bangor airport and could hear aircraft approaching for landing—made sleep a little difficult. A/C unit didn’t work in first room, but front desk re-accommodated me to a new room with a new A/C unit which was appreciated, but could still slightly hear aircraft noise. Rooms are a little tight on space and some dark spaces that could use more light. Greatly appreciate the hospitality-focused and warm staff.

The hotel is a 5 minute drive from the airport and we were driven to and from the airport on the courtesy van. Moreover, they took some of our crew into town to pick up some drinks and supplied big ice bowls to chill the drinks as due to COVID we were confined to the hotel. The rooms were spacious with a big double bed, standard appliances TV, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. One of our team used the hotel gym, but I was glad to sit out in the hotel garden and drink a cool beer. We used the evening bar food menu and it would be rude not to try Lobster in Maine! I felt for the bartender, who had about 20-30 people to look after whilst bringing out food. In the morning had the buffet which had a standard selection of breakfast items, nothing too amazing.

Having an opportunity to visit in Bangor, I decided to stay at this Holiday Inn. My first impression of the property was positive. Although the hotel looks dated from the outside, there are numerous renovations inside the rooms. Upon checking in, I mentioned that I had mobility issues that precluded me from stepping into a standard bathtub. The front desk clerk was gracious enough to upgrade me to a junior suite with a walk in shower. I was very impressed with this level of customer service. One thing of which to be aware is that the hallways are not typically situated. By that I mean the building is designed in a box pattern. The room I was offered is in the back of the building so I had to drive around and enter in one of the many entrances. Not a problem as my room was just a few steps from this entrance. The room is well equipped with the standard amenities one would expect to find in a full service hotel. The bed was big and comfortable. The only negative aspect I encountered was the fact that the rooms are not totally sound-proof. I was able to hear conversations coming from the room next door. Not a valid reason for not booking at this place, but keep this in mind if total peace and quiet is what you seek. The hotel is situated next to the interstate which makes it easy to come and go. Traffic noise was not an issue. There is a pub and restaurant onsite offering an array of menu choices. Also here is a pool and small workout facility. Overall, my stay was relaxing and I went away quite satisfied. If you are seeking accomodation in the Bangor area, I would recommend the Holiday Inn.

It was a long time ago but this place was great. Staff, food and very clean. Staff very friendly. Located in a great location. We walked to the bridge and crossed over. Across the road is a park and keep up very well. The pool at the hotel was very clean and not crowded at all.

The hotel charged 94$ extra in addition room charges as something they call “no show charge”. I informed the manager that I wasn’t notified of such charges and was informed their staff might have forgotten to inform it and they will give feedback to them for the same. They didn’t cancel the charges despite multiple conversations. All this, despite being a platinum ambassador to IHG.

I will not try this hotel again - very poor experience. Much is left to be desired in terms of staff training, manager’s communication and more importantly - hidden charges.

Save yourself the money and trouble and perhaps try another hotel.

We've stayed before, but this time, the . hotel stuck us as exceptional clean. Pleasant ladies at the front desk. Unfortunately, the pool was being cleaned, so we couldn't enjoy it, but it reinforced our view of the cleaniness of the property. Appreciated there was a clock in the room, so many hotels no longer have a clock. Lots of plugs and good wifi. On-site restaurant, more restaurants down the street, but we decided to order a pizza from Jason's about 2 minutes around the corner on Hammond. Grabbed a beer at the on-site restaurant. We booked a rate that included breakfast, so we enjoyed a hot breakfast with a freshly prepared omelet and breakfast wrap.

While stopping over on the way home from Acadia National Park, I had I booked this hotel having slightly higher expectations than what was offered to us.

I understand this hotel is being renovated, but I've noticed this has been the case for quite sometime, and it really does not appear they have made any sort of progress.

They have multiple numbered entrances for the difference sections of the hotel, and ours was #3, located at the very back of the hotel, which resembled an abandoned parking lot, complete with tractor trailers, pallets of showers (likely for the renovations, broken and cracked asphalt/concrete, and poorly maintained landscaping throughout.

Our room was basic, and less than desirable. The color scheme (particularly the ceiling which was a dark pinkish/maroon) was rather off putting. The A/C unit was very week, leaked all over the carpet, and looked to be about 30+ years of age. Ultimately making for an exceptionally uncomfortable evening of sleep given the humidity and heat that was taking place during our stay.

If you are coming or going to Bangor Int'l Airport, this is the hotel for you. It's right down the street. We saw multiple flight attendants, and pilots enter and leave during our stay. It's also right off the freeway at the junction of I-95 and I-395.

The staff, including the front desk manager Doreen, were very accommodating and refunded our IHG points since we cut our stay short.

Didn't use the pool but it looked clean. It is indoor only.

Unless this hotel undergoes a substantial and prompt overhaul, I will not be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed here because I had points with IHG. We were very pleasantly surprised as we had not recently stayed in a Holiday Inn (the memories of the chain from my childhood were less than stellar). The rooms were large, with a living room and kitchen (with a microwave and small fridge/dishes and utensils) separate from the bedroom and bathroom. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel’s location made it easy to jump on the highway to get to different parts of Maine. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel for our visit to Acadia. We booked our trip somewhat last minute and we’re forced to find a hotel in Bangor which is 60 minutes outside of Acadia Nat’l Park. We were very pleased with this particular Holiday Inn. Front staff was exceptionally friendly, even when we checked in at 10 pm. I also liked that there was a poster at the front entrance stating that Holiday Inns are short staffed but committed to a great stay and to be patient with staff. This set our expectations and just made the stay better.
Most importantly our room was clean. Because this COVID crap is still here, we brought Lysol wipes and cleaned all the surfaces and door handles in our room upon arrival. The room was so clean that there was no dirt/filth left behind on the wipes. Sheets were clean
The only negative feedback I have is that the walls are thin and we could hear a wedding party slamming doors in the middle of the night and a neighbor kept sneezing so loudly that he sounded like a fog horn which we could clearly hear in our room. I don’t think the thinness of the walls is any different than any other basic box hotel these days.

Used RBC bank rewards points to book this room. Checked in, given 2 key cards to building number 6. Hotel looks like an old school or prison facility, with one story and multiple corridors.
Neither key worked to gain entry to the building. A guy in his pyjamas (at 2pm) who was smoking outside used his card to let us in. One key worked on the room door, the other didn’t. Once inside, we were assailed by the strong mold smell!

I went back to front desk, explained my husband suffers from asthma as well as just having undergone surgery and felt the room unsafe. Was given another set of cards for a different room on the opposite side of the hotel but found the same thing. Went back to the front desk and I asked if they had water issues and was told “no”.

We took the original room, (after having to walk back and forth as the keys still didn’t work on the building access). But did not unpack. Simply called and booked another hotel. Went immediately back to the front desk and said we could not stay and had another hotel booked (for direct payment). Was then told they could not guarantee we would be credited back our rewards points as our booking was through a third party. They said unless the third party credited us, they could not. But they “would try”.
I then googled reviews for this hotel (unfortunately I should have done this prior to booking) and found others have complained of the “musty smell” also. Definitely do NOT recommend this hotel to anyone who values their health!

Do the king rooms have a mini-fridge?
Answer from Steve33328

Always email the hotels on questions like this. Hotels often put features in some rooms but not all rooms will have the same set up. Even if I amf going to book through a 3rd party booking company I usually email the hotel to confirm whatever is important to me.

All hotels are priced per room not per person . The only reason they ask how many adults or children is to make sure your room has enough beds. So to answer your question , Yes kids are included with a paid for room .

Thank you for your question! Our indoor, heated pool, which is located in the hotel, goes from a depth of 3 feet to 6 1/2 feet. The sauna is located next door to the hotel at Gold's Gym. All of our guests receive complimentary access to Gold's. Just ask for a pass at the Front Desk. We hope to see you here soon!
