Not a bad hotel but nothing special about it. Rooms were clean and there is free parking available. Breakfast is included but I didn't like it. Only unhealthy options in my opinion. It is the type to spend one night and continue a road trip in the next day.
First, breakfast is one of the worst. Second, they will tell you at the front desk that the rate isn’t the one you were quoted online because they charge for incidentals which will be credited back to you a couple of days after your stay. It’s been two weeks. I called once and i not gonna waste my time on the phone again. Easy to just write this review and warn others of this scam.
The room and front areas were clean. Staff were accommodating with a special request I had. The breakfast items were good and that area was clean. The pool was wonderful a nice temperature not to cold.
I have been a Titanium Elite member of Marriott family and I always use these category of hotels during my travel. This hotel is average and nothing impressive for the price they charge. Worst part is their complimentary breakfast!! I dont think they should even offer this anymore if they want to skimp on it so much. This was one of the worst I have seen. There is nothing much available at all. No bread or any other typical items you would see. If you would like a decent breakfast, avoid Fairfield Inns and start looking for Springhill Suites. I thought this was an isolated experience, but when I stayed in Virginia in a Fairfield Inn, I had the same experience. It looks like all Fairfield Inns have cut down on their breakfast menu and not even the basic things are available now.
There was one major issue and some minor deficits. I’ll start with the major. When I went to lay down for the night the bottom sheet immediately popped off the mattress. From experience I know that this happens when a king sized sheet is put on sideways. I decided that even though it was late and I was pretty exhausted it would be worthwhile to get up and remake the bed properly so that the issue wouldn’t bother me throughout the night. Additionally the top covers had been tucked in way too short so I need to fix that anyway. I stripped the bed down and to my horror found a large brown stain on the mattress pad right under where I had been laying. Housekeeping would have had to see this back when you they were putting the sheets on (sideways). It was late and not wanting to further disrupt my night by calling the desk and then waiting to have the issue fixed I laid a clean bath towel over it, remade the bed, tried to put it out of my mind and went to sleep. Now I’ll talk about some other things that together made the place feel less than completely comfortable. First, even though there is a hanging card requesting that guests hang up towels that they want to reuse, there wasn’t a single place to do it. There was just one small bar where hand towels could be hung over the the sink but not another single hook or towel bar provided. There was also no waste basket in the bathroom. So if you needed to throw something away you’d need to walk out into the common space. Trivial but felt chintzy. Next, no microwave in the room. Now I know that they don’t advertise that there are, but still, it’s a bit surprising. If you need to heat up food you’ll need to traipse out to the lobby to share in the one communal microwave. So don’t put your PJs on if you plan to reheat anything. And finally, and I know that other reviewers have said the breakfast is great, there are no bagels or other breads on offer. Maybe that sounds nit picky but come on, you’ve got scrambled eggs and bacon but not a scrap of bread or a hash brown or pancakes to go with. It makes for a rather weird and incomplete breakfast. If you want a carbohydrate you’re limited to greasy packaged muffins or danish. I went with cold cereal and yogurt. Blah. I’ll be in town again at some point and will definitely try some other place.…
