The Flagship Inn has garnered mixed reviews, with guests calling attention to the rooms' state of disrepair and the need for more comprehensive cleaning efforts. Despite the criticisms, the inn's location is often praised for its convenience to local shops. The atmosphere and amenities have received varied feedback, with some guests finding the setting relaxing and the electrics modern, while others describe the ambiance as chintzy and the facilities as outdated. In terms of value and service, the hotel has faced scrutiny for not meeting expectations, with reports of additional fees and inconsistent service quality.

This hotel is within walking distance of Boothbay Harbor (between 15 and 20 minutes depending on how fast you climb the only climb on the route). This makes it possible to leave the car parked and take full advantage of the attractions of the area. The room was freshly renovated which allows to have carpetless floors, furniture equipped with electrical connections and USB ports, new electros (fridge and microwave), a good size TV with access to the biggest public channels and offering Netflix.

We noted clean sheets in a bed with firm mattress.

I must emphasize here the extreme friendliness of the staff, both at the reception and at the room service.

We were entitled to free breakfast at the restaurant located less than 15 meters from our hotel. Here again, courteous service, choice of cereal, yogurt, Danish and egg sandwiches. Although these sandwiches are prepared in the kitchen and warmed in a package, the flavor is good and so is the temperature.

The offer included an outdoor pool. Unfortunately, a problem forced the management to close it during our stay. But considering the large number of beaches available in this area, we probably wouldn’t have had time to use it.

Finally, the hotel is next door to the Bootbay Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Stop necessary to not miss anything in the area. It is also close to a supermarket. This is very useful if you plan several days there and the restaurant budget starts to run out.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel at the best value for money.

I have stayed at this establishment many times over the past ten years. Unfortunately it has declined to the point that it is no longer a good value. The “included breakfast” is now a $5 voucher for a cafe which is over a half mile away. You will need to spend at least twice that amount per person there for breakfast, and it will take about an hour because it is quite busy. The rooms are ok, but the entire property has become quite rundown with peeling paint, overgrown bushes, and other unsightly items. It is really a shame because the place has plenty of potential. You should look elsewhere unless the price drops significantly.

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving at 3 PM. A nice receptionist checked my identity, took the credit card payment, then gave the property information and key cards. We each took an individually-wrapped fresh cookie from the basket, then parked near the center and carried our bags up to the 2nd floor. Room #281 appeared as a Hilton/Marriott with a comfortable king, easy chair, desk and chair, cabinet with TV(many channels), medium sized refrigerator with micro. There was a separate sink area before entering the fully outfitted bathroom with tub/shower. AC/heat was from a loud under window unit, the secure WIFI was strong in the room.
The 7 AM breakfast in their restaurant was more like pre Covid with self-service of 3 types of warm sandwiches, orange and cranberry juices, yogurt, cinnamon raisin bread for toast, pastries, cereal, oatmeal packs and coffee. The tables were well spaced.
This well maintained old style motor court has 83 rooms sitting well back from main Rt # 27 with a medium sized outdoor pool, play and picnic area and a Hannaford supermarket 100 yards south. This very nice deluxe king was one of our most expensive nights in our 27 day trip up the east coast at $151.51/night.

Having gone to The Flagship Inn for many years both in season and off season, we had a very disappointing stay there recently. Apparently the management changed hands over the past year and it shows. Our room needed more thorough cleaning, especially under and around the bed. The rooms used to have a small table in them for use with a lap top or to have a snack. There was no table in our room. The direct T. V. did not work. The management burns noxious incense in the office lobby that created poor air quality for those checking in or out. The jacuzzi jets were not functioning, the vending machine was out of order. Housekeeping did not respond to requests, not sure if that was due to a language barrier or not. The breakfast at the Flagship used to be really good with very friendly service. The breakfast area was closed- I believe due to a fire. We were given vouchers for $5.00 at a local cafe, Mama D’s ( except there’s no voucher on Wednesday). I’ve eaten at MamaD’s many times and enjoyed it. But it’s too small to accommodate the extra business from The Flagship and they seemed annoyed with anyone bearing a voucher for breakfast. The wait for a few breakfast sandwiches was 30 minutes or more. People I spoke with while waiting on line had similar experiences. Management could at least have complimentary coffee in the lobby. They charge a ‘resort fee’ but have a long way to go to qualify as a resort. The Flagship used to be a good value for the money. This visit was a disappointment.

My family stayed in a "Handicap Superior Double" with a roll-in shower because our daughter has mobility issues. When my husband took a shower, several inches of water flooded onto the bedroom floor which created a hazardous situation for our daughter. We immediately reported the issue to the front desk. The hotel website claims that their "highest priority is your comfort and safety." This was certainly not the case in our situation. Hotel management was not sympathetic. We will never stay there again.

My spouse and I stayed here 2017/2018 ish. We booked a room here again because we enjoyed the place the first time around. This second time around was a complete 180 - I am quite sure this was due to a change in management. The rooms went from average, slightly dated but good quality amenities to new, cheap, chintzy décor that felt like it was a one use only. I would take slightly dated quality rooms over what we had.

We also saw mold in the room - on a wall where there was no water or A/C units to make it make sense.

The pool was clean-ish? The promised hot tub was very dirty and colder than the pool. There was a spot for pool specific towels and towel return, but that was empty - thankfully we brought our own towels instead of planning on using the provided ones.

The continental breakfast was about what you would expect. A few things made us scratch our heads - like having to put the pre-made pancakes in the toaster to warm up, or the fact that the milk for cereal was in a pitcher on the buffet table - no chilling available for it.

I would stay away from this place if at all possible.

Very easy check in/out. Dara ( I believe that was her name) was very polite and friendly. Not a fancy hotel, but had everything we needed and very reasonably priced, comfy beds and clean. They are starting to update rooms, such as getting rid of carpet (yeah!, carpets are very hard to keep clean). Grounds are nicely kept and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Hiking trails right from the parking lot. Very close to many attractions. The Botanical Gardens were absolutely beautiful. A must see for everyone! Need to have the AAA sign removed as they no longer accept AAA for a discount. I would like to see during renovations that they install counter tops at a higher level, a toilet that is higher up and the shower head that is higher up as well. It would also be nice to have a shelf in the bathroom as there is a very limited amount of counter space. We would definitely stay again.

This is not a 5 star motel, but it did EXCEED my expectations after reading reviews. Room was clean, linens were clean, small fridge, microwave and keurig. I did bring extra blankets as the beadspread was thin, but the heat/ air conditioning was very adequate. Continental breakfast was simple; eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, cereal, some fruits and yogurts, coffee, tea juice. The restaurant was very clean and staff were very respectful. All in all a good experience, this is not a Sheraton or Marriott, you need to not have those expectations. Very convenient location, Hannafords and Family Dollar nearby. Was in Boothbay for Gardens Aglow and Lobster Boat parade, very convenient and price was expected for the events that weekend

I have stayed here in the past and to be fair room appeared clean and had a nice room refrigerator, coffee maker, and microwave, it's a good location property looks ok overall though obviosly an older building. Air conditioner worked well.

They lied to my face when there was no breakfast and said they removed it from their site. It's still saying that as I write this review. Apparently some days they have vouchers for an off site restaurant but not the day we were there! I have a screen shot.

Next, there are what looks like two families living there on the back side with kids riding their bikes through the parking lot. The room doors have no second lock so an employee could enter anytime, and you have to be sure to pull hard on the door to ensure it fully closes.
Pool and hot tub are out of service.their site does not tell you that if you have pop ups blocked. One pop up when you enter their site tells you.

They installed battery operated headboard lights! Batteries of course were dead in one bed nearly dead in the other. Mattres in both beds probably need to be replaced but again being fair not terrible.

You would need to call directly, but I would think they do, since many rooms are on ground floor and accessible. Also, the restaurant is accessible.
