I hate to post a glowing review of this secret gem, but they absolutely deserve it. Beautifully maintained "motel" - I met the owner in the morning putting a fan in the elevator as they had cleaned the carpet the day before and wanted to disperse the cleaning smell. Breakfast was yummy with awesome blueberry muffins befitting their location. Wonderful balcony views of the harbor and sunset if you get the west-facing rooms. Loved our stay and will certainly return.

The perfect place to stay in Boothbay Harbor!! This hotel is across the water from most of the town of Boothbay Harbor, but it’s still within a 15 minute walk or a 3-5 minute drive. The location is fantastic because most rooms have a marvelous view of the central Boothbay Harbor area. I would absolutely recommend spending the extra $30 or so per night for the ocean view room because the ocean view rooms have the best view of the city by far. The harbor view rooms offer a decent view of a local lobster pound and Catholic Church but not too much else. The price was very competitive, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast of fresh homemade muffins, yogurt, and coffee was fantastic. If I ever return to Boothbay Harbor, I’ll certainly be staying here again!

We are repeat guests that really enjoy this family-owned and well-run place. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, they all make you feel welcomed. Our 3rd floor king with the balcony view of the harbor cannot be matched in BBH (even by the white-haired devil up the road). The “free” continental breakfast is just right for the variety of choices and if you want something else by all means pay for it at any number of restaurants. Thank you, Brown family and the hotel staff, for everything. We will be back again in 2024.

PRISTINE!!! Brown’s Wharf never disappoints. The rooms, hallways, railings, are all spic and span. The morning after a rainstorm the staff was wiping down all of the wooden railings. The balconies all face the water and are as clean as the rooms. Plenty of seating and space to enjoy the scenery outside- under cover enough that we spent a rainy afternoon outside on our deck and we’re very comfortable. Breakfast daily was plenty, and included: bagels, hard boiled eggs, fresh muffins, yogurt, juice and coffee. Staff is extremely pleasant and the flowers and attention to detail is amazing. This is a great spot and a nice walk into town. We’ve been coming here for years and will continue. !!!

We are multi-year repeat guests that love it here. Balcony harbor view from the 3rd floor cannot be beat. Check-in once again was smooth, room super clean and the housekeeping staff always does a great job, Keurig coffeemaker in the room, also let us not forget the gentleman that tends all the beautiful plants and flowers too. Maybe next year their fine restaurant will be back open, but in the meantime that “free” continental breakfast cannot be beat. Everything is freshly prepared, and it sort of shocked me how fresh and still warm everything was……those blueberry muffins are really something special. Thank you Brown Family and Staff, for everything you do!

This place is a true classic. Having grown up in the fifties and sixties, I remember places like this that were about attention to detail and little extras. If you just look at the pictures of this place, one might think it is just an old motor inn. But that is far from the case. This place, now 74 years old, is very well maintained and very clean. Right now the restaurant is not open so they provide a complimentary breakfast including freshly baked blueberry muffins, fruit, Chobani Greek yogurt, butter, New England brand coffee with natural sugar and true half and half, hard boiled eggs, and orange and cranberry juice. Another wonderful feature of this place is its wharf that hosts yachts and smaller boats. Each room has a balcony and the harbor view rooms (as opposed to the inner harbor view rooms) provide the best views. It is great to sit on your balcony eating breakfast and observe the multiple goings on out in the harbor. There is a shuttle that takes you to the other side of the harbor where the action is, but a car is helpful or you can walk via the footbridge. If you are older, I would recommend the shuttle trolley or renting a car because the walk can be a little much for older guests. There are restaurants on the same side as the inn, however, if you want to eat nearby. Another wonderful treat is the high water pressure showers in the bathrooms. Truly delightful to experience such great water pressure!!! All in all, I highly recommend this place!!

A charming, nostalgic Inn right on the Harbor with wonderful views! CLEAN! In fact, one of THE cleanest hotels we've stayed in, and that's saying a lot! The family-owned business cares for its customers and could not be any friendlier or more helpful! The warm homemade blueberry and cranberry nut muffins are yummy, and a continental type breakfast is included, with really good coffee! In fact, once they knew we had an early morning departure to go to Acadia Park, she came running out of the office with MUFFINS as we were getting in the car!! The rooms seem a bit outdated although everything worked well -- Queen beds would be a nice addition, as would a tad more bathroom space. BUT again, the room was fine and the daily housekeeping AMAZING! The location is wonderful with an easy walk to downtown. Parking is plentiful. Our thanks for a wonderful introduction to Maine!

Loved our stay at Brown's Wharf Inn! Don't let the fact that it is a motel deter you. The location was perfect. The Inn is right on the harbor and a short walk into town. The rooms were clean with a mini frig/freezer, mini microwave, and coffeemaker. The room was large enough for 4 of us to be quite comfortable. The bathroom area was small but offered a separated sink, which was helpful. Most importantly, the staff was awesome! A special shout out to Michelle! She is terrific. I highly recommend the Brown's Wharf Inn! So glad I read the reviews and selected this special place for our stay.

Excellent service and friendly staff. We arrived early so the room was not yet available. Suggested we take the trolley (which stop in front of the inn) and visit the town. They also took my cell phone and, sure enough, in a couple of hours they said the room was ready. Room was very clean with great views. Had clearly been renovated in the last couple of years. Minor nit - the bath area is very small. However, the WiFi is great - I had a virtual meeting the next morning and the signal was very clear. The restaurant was not open due to staffing and pandemic issues so the breakfast was limited but great fresh blueberry muffins! Again, wonderful staff and service and reasonable price for a great view!
