This hotel had a lovely harbor view and is conveniently located to shops and restaurants downtown. Our room was spacious (two room suite), beds and pillows were fairly comfortable, no breakfast offered due to covid, and parking was tight in a strangely configured parking lot. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great--attentive and friendly staff. Loved the view from the roof top bar.
The rooms were beautiful and had a great view of the bay. Check in was seamless. We are at the restaurant for dinner, and Traci was awesome! She and one other server covered the very full downstairs and outside so well! We will definitely recommend to friends!
I hate giving unfavorable reviews but I really want others to know what to expect. This was my first trip to Boothbay. Our party consisted of my parents and my 17 yr old daughter. 1- you don’t actually check in at the motel, you need to check in down the road at a different hotel. Odd but ok 2- we checked in and got our key, we get there and open our door only to find that it was already occupied!!!! How horrifying, thankfully the occupants were out and we didn’t encounter them in a state of undress or worse. Back to the other hotel to try and figure out what was going on. They finally checked us in to the correct room. 3. Parking- parking here is awful. Not enough spaces for the rooms and spaces are small and laid out terribly. My mom requires mobility assistance and there is only one handicap space. We ended up parking on a very steep hill on the side of the building which was a challenge to get into. Place over all not very handicap friendly. 4 Room- room was clean but our seating area outside our room was basically 2 chairs in the parking lot. Other rooms did have balconies but not private. 5 Amenities- Keurig in room with 3 pods, no cream or sugars and 2 cups (double queen room) iron and ironing board, hairdryer. There is a hot tub but it is right beside the restaurant/ lounge so if you don’t mind soaking beside people eating then ok, no privacy screen between. Laundry room $4 a load to wash dryer is $.25 for 4 min 6 Overall appearance- property needs some TLC. The buildings are ok overall if not a bit dated. Maybe a fresh coat of paint. Parking lot is terrible very chaotic, small strangely laid out spaces, not handicap friendly. Steep inclines to enter/exit. It is very close and walking distance to shops and restaurants so that is a big plus. When I visit again this will not be my choice of motel…
The Tugboat Inn is in a great location with wonderful views from our room and balcony. The hotel is a short walk, less than 5 minutes to the restaurants and shops in Boothbay Harbor. It is an older property it could use some TLC and minor maintenance. The restaurant on site looked interesting but unfortunately it was not open that night we were staying there which was a Monday night. Overall I would say it’s a very good choice for Boothbay Harbor.
Two day visit to Boothbay Harbor, researched our options and am glad that I chose Tugboat Inn. Great location, you can walk to everything in Boothbay Harbor and we had a nice room with a private balcony (Main Building) overlooking the harbor - great place to sit and have your morning coffee. Room had a refrigerator and coffee maker. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Boothbay Harbor, I would recommend the Tugboat Inn.
