We stayed for 2 nights in August in the 2nd floor suite of the dog friendly building. Room was a bit tired and in need of a renovation (photos on website make it look much nicer than it is) but the location was excellent, right in the heart of the harbor, and we loved sitting out on the balcony watching people get on and off the whale watching boat. Overall, it was a nice stay.

We come here every few years for a vacation, was unable to come in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. We came in 2018 and they stopped offering any kind of military or AAA discounts but still included breakfast and a great dinner special for guests staying at the hotel. We just returned from our visit 2022 and sorry to say but we won't be coming back for awhile. When we looked online it still said Breakfast included but when we arrived they told us they no longer offer it. I don't like getting up and getting dressed to find a place to eat in the morning, I think for the price of the rooms with no daily maid service they could still include breakfast. As for dinner specials for guests that is out the window as well. The price of lobster was more than double, no fault of the hotel but just another reason we will not be back for awhile. I know in part alot has to do with the pandemic and our current POTUS so maybe we will try in 3 years to see if things get better. The people were still very friendly and courteous.

What a location exactly as stated in booking , yes a little outdated but really!! What a view and location very helpful staff easy parking , also has a lift to the 1st floor so no carrying bags up stairs . Although this is a very central place you do not notice any noise . The shopping was great as well

My recent stay at the Fisherman’s Wharf Inn was a masterclass in disappointment, a far cry from the pleasant experiences I had enjoyed in the past. While the hotel boasts a prime location in the heart of Boothbay Harbor, the allure of its town center cannot mask the myriad of flaws that marred my visit.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by an unfriendly front desk clerk, a stark contrast to the warm welcomes I had previously experienced. I had booked a “King Corner Footbridge Suite,” which was advertised as having the “best views” and a wrap-around deck. However, my excitement quickly turned to dismay as I discovered that the promised vistas were obstructed by a fleet of sightseeing tour boats docked mere feet from my room. These vessels not only blocked any semblance of a view but also loomed so close that I felt I could reach out and touch them. The noise from the boats was incessant, and the fumes from their engines permeated the air, rendering the deck unusable for relaxation.
To compound my frustration, the room itself was plagued by an unpleasant odor. The hotel attempted to mask this by cranking the air conditioning to high, but the smell lingered stubbornly, making the environment uncomfortable. I found myself keeping the curtains drawn most of the time, a necessity given the proximity of the boats. The discomfort was palpable; sitting on the deck felt like being on display rather than enjoying a serene getaway.
Moreover, despite having booked a second-floor room, I was inexplicably assigned to the first floor, which felt like a bait-and-switch given the premium price I paid. For what I received, the room should have been offered at a discount, complete with a warning about its numerous defects (as noted with some other rooms). The overall condition of the hotel was outdated, and it was evident that maintenance had taken a backseat.
In summary, my experience at the Fisherman’s Wharf Inn was marked by a series of unfortunate events that overshadowed its advantageous location. What should have been a charming retreat turned into a regrettable ordeal, leaving me to wonder if this establishment has lost its way. The hotel should be embarrassed to offer this room for rent.

We travelled stayed at Fisherman's Wharf Inn for two nights, August 6th and 7th. We were a party of 11 and booked the hotel in April 2021. We had requested 4 rooms, to be located on the first floor, water view, all in a row. We had three children with us ages 7 years to 10 years old and wanted them to be able to play together and enjoy the balcony/ wharf without being separated and always being within our group area. The rooms were not located together at all. One room was located on the 2nd floor and smelled like stale cigarettes. We discussed the locations off the room with the front desk and were told we had all be scheduled together the week before we arrived, but someone at the hotel had changed it. We spoke to the manager the next morning and was told there was nothing to be done. He then gave us the "policy" that rooms are not guaranteed. Not at all what we wanted to hear. Making reservations 4 months in advance did not mean a thing.
The manager said he was going to put an "electronic nose" in the second floor room to determine the smell, but this did nothing for us during our rental. The suite on the 1st floor, that we booked was to have an unobstructed view, but had a large sailboat anchored right in front of it, obscuring the view of the harbor. Come to find out, it is anchored at the wharf most days. The older lady sitting at the door is rude. Were three of us standing near the outside barrel away from the door, when she asked us to move as we were blocking the entrance to the restaurant. This is a public area. The gentleman in the parking lot was rude to several people waiting for the Cabbage Island Ferry. The line forms to the right of the Inn's entrance. At one point he went so far as to say he would move his truck there and that would move them. Totally rude and uncalled for.
The rooms are comfortable overall. Pillows are good. No room cleaning during Covid, which is partly understandable, but does not reduce the rate. Over $3,000.00 spent at the Fisherman's Wharf and it was definitely not worth the money or what we expected($350.00+) per room. Some of us have been enjoying this area for 12 years as an extended family vacation, staying at this and the sister hotel in the past.
The behavior of the staff, the location of our rooms has made it so I will not stay here again. So disappointed and it cannot be blamed on Covid. The rest of the area and visit was awesome. Enjoyed the Cabbage Island Clambake, dinner at McSeagulls, drinks and appetizers at the Tugboat, breakfast at the Wave, ice cream on the pier, coffee and muffins at the Red Cup.

We have stayed 2 or 3 nights every year for the last several years and have experience with the hotel. I know to book early enough to get one of the waterfront rooms with the balcony. Great view! The building is old but there are new renovations every time we come and it is clean and comfortable. Long walk through narrow corridors to get to the waterfront rooms but worth the trip. I'm walking challenged so I appreciate the elevator in the parking lot and especially the fact that there is a parking lot as Boothbay can be a tough place to find a spot. The hotel is right in the middle of everything docks, restaurants, stores and couldn't be more centrally located. Another positive note is the presence of sprinklers in the halls and rooms. Very reassuring in an old building. Yo do have to make up your own room every day though I assume there is a way to get fresh towels, I was not advised what it was but we had enough and didn't need any.

We stayed three nights at Fisherman's Wharf, one of Boothbay Harbor's mainstay inns and restaurants. First, the positives about the lodging: we had a private balcony overlooking the harbor; the room was very clean; the location is exceptional - on the water and right in the village. The inn could really benefit from some upgrades, however. The room was lacking enough electrical outlets, which is an issue these days when everyone needs to be charging up phones and other devices. The room door was a very basic hollow core type and there did not appear to be fire rated doors separating the hallway to the bottom floor rooms from the restaurant's kitchens. Because it's on the water, there was a definite musty odor, which maybe can't be helped but better dehumidifying could help. The room key was an actual key and the room number was printed right on it, which isn't great for security purposes. Overall, things just looked a bit dated and somewhat worn. The staff was friendly and the restaurant very good, but for the prices all Boothbay Harbor accommodations command some upgrading of this inn should be undertaken.

Average older inn, ignore the cosmetics and it’s a great place. Perfect location to walk everywhere in town, front door parking, bar & restaurant on-site, balcony overlooking the water. Kind of smells like mold, pretty run down, and Bathroom fan needs to be stronger (one teen shower and the whole place is fogged for hours despite windows open). But, staff is kind and we were rarely in our room for much other than sleeping. So, for us it was great and we’d definitely stay again in a heartbeat! For someone more picky or who wants double sinks, etc, you may want to choose a different place.

Our second floor room was so noisy that it was not possible to sleep. The people in the room above us were up partying past midnight and then up at 5:00am making so much noise again. The noise from the adjacent stair way and corridor can be easily heard in the room as well and make for a very noise stay. The room was very dated and dirty. The shower was very moldy and the bathroom could use a good cleaning. The room was dusty, dirty and in need of much attention. I would never stay here again and was very disappointed with this stay.

This was probably my worst stay here. My husband and I have been coming for about 20 years for our anniversary. I made the reservations months in advance. You pick the type of room you want. I always pick a room overlooking the harbor and whale park. We were given the room closest to the road and could barely see anything. Room was small compared to others in the same class, you couldn't even put a chair at the table without moving things. Services diminish every year and the prices go up. I'm very sad to say this may have been our last stay here. There are too many other places that would be happy with repeat business. 2 plastic chairs on the patio, 1 was broken. No options for breakfast. You can go the front desk to get your own towels. Key stuck in the lock - you had to SLAM the door to be able to lock from the inside. Parking is a joke. We often had to park across the street and that was often a question of if we could find a place. All in all, while I used to rate this 5 stars, this year it seemed to go down substantially.
