Harborage Inn was a beautiful place to spend our first night ever in Maine. The Inn is in close walking distance to the quaint downtown area of Boothbay Harbor, including the footbridge with its famous house in the middle of the span. Harborage Inn is spotless, our room (Bayside #10) had a view of the harbor, the bed was extremely comfortable together with the smoothest linens. Extra points for the towel warmer in the bathroom and the room's adorable "fireplace" heater for ambiance. Exceptional was the willingness of our hosts to work with us to serve us a kosher breakfast. Having explained our needs (and having brought our own pan) they were more than willing to make sure we had a filling and delicious breakfast to start our day. We don't take such things for granted and so we want to make a point of their accommodation and graciousness here. Our breakfast, outdoors on the porch overlooking the morning quiet of the harbor during a break in the rain, was perfect. Our stay at Harborage Inn was a wonderful way to begin our Maine vacation! Thank you.....

I was very impressed and will be back whenever I’m in town; this place has it all! Very short walking distance to everything—downtown, restaurants, shops, waterfront and a hot tub overlooking the harbor! On site parking, clean rooms, charming inn character, huge amount of deck/lounge space with tables and chairs all throughout the property. Very friendly inn keepers and I can’t say enough about the room service delivered gourmet breakfast everyday! They give you different options every day and even though I went with the egg and protein option each day they had delicious different combos each time! And it’s legit gourmet ingredients and presentation; linen napkins, silverware and dishes, fresh coffee they even add garnish! I was really surprised at how much they care; this is restaurant and chef quality with no effort or charge! They have a great system for it too, you make your choices the night before via an order form and drop it into a box and voila the next morning at the time you specified on the order it arrives with a smile! I’m a light sleeper but I got great sleep all the 4 nights I was there. It’s a quiet environment and clientele was quiet too. It was a highlight of my trip staying here, they made it that much better. I’m sure summer here would be a great experience too, so I’ll have to come back. Don’t hesitate to stay here, you’ll love it.

Harborage Inn on the Oceanfront is a modern inn with direct access to the waterfront and a 5 minute walk to downtown Boothbay Harbor.

Our hosts Mark and Brooke, along with inn staff, were professional and courteous and brought us delicious organic breakfasts made to order. The room was clean with modern touches such as an electric fireplace, refrigerator/freezer, towel warmer and high speed internet.

Most rooms have an excellent view of the bay and our hosts were happy to make local dining recommendations which turned out to be great options.

This was my first time to Maine and first time for my wife since she was a child. I was not entirely sure what to expect but from the moment we arrived at the Harborage Inn, I knew this was going to be the place for us. Then throw in Mark and Brooke as the icing on the cake. I would be neglect to not mention Alex (the owner) and the young ladies (Dora and Matea) that also helped take care of the Inn this summer.

The breakfast from our chef Mark was fabulous every morning. Always delivered with a smile by Brooke, Matea or Dora. (I still look for him in my kitchen each morning since we returned!)

We had rather spotty weather but we enjoyed being able to sit on the deck of Room 12 and enjoy the water view (amazing how high and low the tide swings). The hot tub was well taken care of and the Adirondack chairs on the lawn were a great retreat to read a book or enjoy a glass of wine.

We were fortunate enough to spend time with Mark and Brooke, as well as a few other couples and Mr Tom (who has been coming back to the Inn for years - that's a testament to how nice this place is). We were even able to watch the parade during Windjammer Days from the front porch - collecting candy that we later gave to other kids along the route.

As for location, you just can't go wrong. You're 5 minutes from the main part of town where all the restaurants and docks are for the excursions. The footbridge re-opened while we were there, and that makes it a quick jaunt to the other side of the harbor. However, even without the footbridge it's a nice walk around the harbor and there's a lot to see and do. Check out the trolley ride too! It's free and informative but please tip your driver!

If you are looking for a great, comfortable, inviting home away from home then please consider visiting The Harborage Inn.

Very comfortable and luxurious stay for three adults (a couple and a friend). Beds were comfy and in separate rooms, both with warm quilt coverings and extra blankets if needed. Gas fireplace and views of the (frozen over) cove were lovely, as was the HUGE breakfast delivered to our door by the innkeepers the next morning.

Loud, dirty, non-private

I booked this resort because of the good reviews, hot tub, and private balcony - but that is not what I got. I stayed in room 11 for 2 days and
the resort was full.

First - the state of the room. This room was $400 a night and was dirty. There was black mold in the shower, the carpet was threadbare, the sheets had stains, and worst of all - the waterfront hot tub had brown and green scum ring, I didn’t get in.

Second, that ‘private’ balcony is not private at all. It’s just two chairs on the wood staircase and although there is a sign that it’s the private space of room 11, people are out there all the time standing in front of your window on your balcony.

Lastly, the wood stairs are a super highway of traffic in the morning, you will not sleep in. Non-stop up and down with suitcases or breakfast, it echoes in the room.

The rooms are very small - bed takes up most of room with no side table. Suitcases don’t have a place to open. Breakfast was ok, choices are limited and one morning I couldn’t eat what they brought - it was 3 pieces of asparagus on toast with cheese - is that a breakfast somewhere?

Do not recommend

My wife and I stayed here in while taking in Boothbay Harbor. Good decision on our part. The location could not have been better. It was only a 3 minute walk to the center of Boothbay Harbor. We walked to most places, especially for dinner which was nice not having to drive somewhere. Let me back up though, Mike and Brooke the innkeepers were very accommodating, provided plenty of communication even prior, and were very helpful and friendly. Our room was well appointed and had everything we needed, even a towel warmer for the bathroom. Our room/common porch had a good view of the harbor. One thing it did not have which most inns do is a common area/lounge for the guests. Breakfast is also served to you in your room instead of a common area. Not a big deal for us but could be for some. Outside the place is very picturesque, with good parking, a couple of EV chargers, and even a large hot tub outside sitting on the edge of the harbor. All in all, a great stay and we would highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Harborage Inn in Boothbay Harbor. We had a nice view of the Harbor from our patio. The Inn was conveniently located. Breakfast was very good and delivered to our room. However we would suggest that coffee be served in a carafe or a coffee pot holding at least 4 cups of coffee rather than 4 separate cups that got cold quickly. We would also suggest they add a small microwave to the rooms so we could reheat left overs from the many restaurants in Boothbay Harbor. Also the bed was a little too hard for our taste. Peter who we met when we first checked in was lovely. In fact all the staff we encountered were very nice.

My husband and I just returned from 4 nights at the Harborage Inn. It was our first time in Maine. The inn is located in Boothbay Harbor and is walking distance to everything in the harbor. There were lots of restaurants and several shops so no lack of things to do. The innkeepers were very helpful with suggestions of what to do in the area, best places to eat etc. The breakfast every day was delivered to our room and was delicious. The room we stayed in, room 10, was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a very relaxing getaway and we highly recommend the Harborage Inn.
