We got way more than what I’d expected for $130/night. Our room was actually 2 rooms: large bedroom, and across the hall a private breakfast room with large mini fridge, microwave, full size coffee maker (theres a kurig in the common area), and even a spare twin bed. To go from bedroom to bathroom it’s a couple steps through the hallway but never an issue. Large bathroom with walk-in shower. Bedroom had walk in closet and fabulously comfortable king bed. A/C too. Most area restaurants are dine outside or take-out. So one night we did take out in the breakfast room, other night take-out on the nice front porch. Owners, as well as other guests, we very friendly, and respectful with covid precautions. Very clean, everything works fine. Perfect for several days vacationing mid-coast Maine. I really hope we can come back. …
The Maine Hideaway is such a gem! We stayed in the apartment over the barn and it was perfect! Everything was very clean and well maintained, the kitchen was awesome, small living room area, and a huge comfortable bed. It was in the mid-70s the whole weekend, and we only needed to turn on the AC a few times just to cool down. The Inn is located on a quiet road, about a 3 miles walk or drive to the ocean and it is GORGEOUS. Each day breakfast is served in the main house. Everything was delicious and Maribeth and Jeff were so accommodating and helpful - even letting us borrow a pass so we could get to Acadia early and miss the crowds for a cycling trip. Maribeth even packed us up a small breakfast because we would be on the road so early. The is a small general store next door that has everything you could need and even a few fun random items. We will definitely be back.…

Do you ever stop to wonder who chooses a job that is literally 24/7? If you are able to visit the Maine Hideaway, you will discover that Jeff and Maribeth Carson, who bought the inn a couple of years ago, are the perfect folks for a 24/7 job. They never stop moving, and they never stop thinking about the comfort of their guests. Breakfast is wonderful, always lots of choices including fruit, yogurt, waffles, eggs, bacon - more than one could possibly need! The rooms are nice, the beds are comfy and the towels are thick. We stayed 2 entire weeks while my husband was attending Wooden Boat School. It was an absolute joy: the Carsons could not have been more accommodating, including letting me sit in the parlor for hours watching the Tour de France. We look forward to visiting again next year. It is like visiting your sister, but she waits on you!…
We stayed here from Wednesday to Sunday in early July 2019. It was fabulous. The location is convenient to Blue Hill, Deer Isle, and Stonington and close to our friends who were mooring their sailboat in Brooklin, and close to the general store. Our hosts Marybeth and Jeff were super nice, very knowledgeable and went all out for us always with a smile (or in Maribeth’s case, a very sweet chuckle!). We had some long distance logistical issues re work and Maribeth was super helpful. The breakfasts were excellent. Jeff is a gourmet chef. They are a loving and caring couple. We had a wonderful experience and hope to visit again.
