The Brunswick Hotel is often celebrated for its cozy charm, with guests frequently commending the welcoming continental breakfast and the warmth of the fireplaces. While the rooms generally receive compliments for their comfort, cleanliness, and aesthetics, a few guests have pointed out issues with lighting and noise. The hotel's atmosphere is consistently labeled as inviting by travelers, complementing the attentive service provided by the staff. Set in a prime Downtown Brunswick location, the hotel's proximity to local attractions is a highlight for guests. Although most guests believe the hotel provides good value, some feel it could offer more for the price.

I cannot recommend The Brunswick Hotel enough! In addition to its prime location in Downtown Brunswick, the hotel and its staff are accommodating and inviting. As someone who works in hospitality, I have a very high standard for the places I stay, and The Brunswick Hotel exceeded all of them. The front desk texted me on the morning of my check-in date to welcome me and make themselves available for any questions, and they very kindly accommodated my request for an early check-in at the last minute. Plus, they surprised me with a free room upgrade when I got there! I stayed in a Superior Double Queen Room and was impressed by its cleanliness and comfort. The continental breakfast and afternoon tea service were also wonderful. I happily recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Brunswick, and I would be very glad to return!

We recently spent 4 nights at this hotel and could not have been much happier. It is literally situated across the street from the Bowdoin College campus and within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants located on Maine Street. The rooms and facilities are well maintained and we found every employee encountered to be friendly. A complimentary continental breakfast is offered each morning and fresh baked cookies in the late afternoon. In addition, its central location allowed us to explore a number of towns along Maine’s mid-coast. The is little doubt that we will be returning.

Several things were happening when we sought reservations at The Brunswick Hotel. We retired, sold our house and were leaving for Florida for the winter. The only thing holding us back was our motorhome which was being serviced, so we needed accommodations that were easily assessable and that allowed pets. Our room was spacious and very clean! The beds were so comfortable! The hotel’s continental breakfast was perfect and the hostess made sure everyone had what they needed. This hotel is also very quiet and their two warm and inviting fireplaces just make this place feel like home! If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay with an attentive front desk and housekeeping, The Brunswick Hotel is the place to stay. I highly recommend! Five stars!

This was the best hotel on our trip. Our room was spacious, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Bathrobes were also provided. In the shower, soap, shampoo, and conditioner were set up in a dispenser (see photo). So nice! The breakfast that was included was exceptional, with fresh baked goods. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night!

This is one of the worst hotels. the hallways and bedrooms are hardly lit, easy to fall in tub. The heat takes 4 to 6 hours to change one degree, yet they claim it works like a charm. The lamps are falling and the dust is evident. All furniture is scraped. Thank goodness I am here for one night. At least sheets and towels are plentiful and they are generous with water bottles.

Maine's hospitality staff and hotel operations were hit pretty hard during Covid....the Brunswick Hotel included. It' s nice to report that the property has finally indulged in a small amount of room renovation, and staffing levels/services are almost fully restored. Hotel continues to offer a great location. Included breakfasts are reasonable and decent quality, if limited. Noble Kitchen has good bar, good service and fine food, though pricey. The nearby Federal and '165' hotels may be a little bit tonier, but they also have a few rooms that aren't so great at their budget end. The Brunswick Hotel, on the other hand, offers the best overall value for money, even if it isn't an exciting place. Also, the all-day hot beverages and evening cookies at the front desk are a nice touch.

Many thoughtful details made The Brunswick Hotel one of the nicest we’ve ever stayed in. The staff is extremely courteous and accommodating. Everything was very clean - rooms, hallways, common areas, restaurant, and elevator. The lounges and front porch were so inviting and comfortable. Complimentary coffee at the reception desk was very welcome, also! Our room was on the 3rd floor, with a view of the restaurant courtyard. The bed was very comfortable, and the room had everything we needed. There was a mini fridge, coffee maker, plenty of charging ports for devices, and even soft robes for our use.

Dawnelle the day manager reached out to us via text (personal not robo) prior to our arrival to see what she could do to enhance our stay. I simply responded that we would appreciate an upper floor. We were pleasantly surprised upon arrival to find out that we were upgraded to a huge suite. Not realizing that the summer season was over, it was not necessary but a wonderful gesture by the hotel. The room was unbelievably spacious, well appointed and clean. Large sitting/living room and two TV’s. We were so comfortable here. This was by far the nicest and our most favorite hotel that we stayed in on our recent 12-day New England trip, including a fairly prestigious hotel in Boston.

The continental breakfast and cookies in the evening were most appreciated. Josh was helpful in recommending dining suggestions on a night when most restaurants were closed. We would loved to have eaten at the on-site restaurant as locations in town we’re very limited. Bottom line, this was the nicest hotel and staff of any hotel on our recent trip with a very competitive rate. I would gladly stay here again and can highly recommend this hotel to anyone!

The location is great, a stone's throw from the Bowdoin campus and from the Downeaster train station. It does need a little work since our last visit three years ago. Lobby furnishings are a little threadbare and room linens are close to their useful lives (thin and stained?). The complimentary breakfast would have been first rate a decade ago, but it is eclipsed by the competition these days (compare with the Bar Harbor Inn's continental breakfast). And for the breakfast there were no gluten free pastries, toast, or cereals. The staff are friendly and well trained. Quiet rooms are on the Noble St. side of the house.

My husband and I stayed at the Brunswick Hotel this past weekend.
There are many great things about this hotel and a view areas for improvement.
The common areas are lovely. The restaurant was very good with an impressive wine list. The lobster corn soup was delicious. Front desk and waitstaff were friendly.
The rooms are dated and dark. A refresh would really be a good thing. Better lighting and a fresh coat of paint.
There is no clock in the room. Housekeeping does not come every day unless requested- I have never experienced this in any hotel or B&B.
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Brunswick Hotel is adjacent to Bowdoin College campus and a short walk to downtown. It is a fifteen to thirty minute drive to the coast depending whether you want to visit Mere Point(closest) or Bailey’s Island (farthest)

Thank you for inquiring, we do not have a pool. We do have a nice fitness center and we are located steps away from a lively downtown. We have an onsite Tavern that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we offer live entertainment outdoors on the patio where you can sip cocktails or local micro brews while sitting at one of our fire pits enjoying the great outdoors.
