My friend and I were attending a wedding in Waterville Maine. Due to the travel distance from home, we were looking for a reasonably priced cabin in the woods to turn our Saturday wedding into a weekend Autumn foliage adventure. We sure found EXACTLY what we were looking for in Silverton Sporting Ranch. The small cabin we rented was beautiful, inside and out. The bed and futon were both comfy and there were plenty of snuggly warm throw blankets to wrap up in. Sitting outside on Friday night we were thrilled listening to the owls, and having coffee outdoors in the crisp October morning air, we were in awe that it was so quiet you could hear the leaves falling from the trees while listening to the call of Canada Geese off in the distance. The hostess, Denise, was helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Silverton Sporting Ranch, whether you hunt or not!!

Denise has the Spring Turkey hunt figured out. The cabins are simple and just what we were looking for, The food she served was well cooked and lots of it. We had hundreds of acres and plenty of excellent locations to hunt and Denise put us right on the birds time after time. If you're looking for a place to get away and have a no nonsense hunt this is it.

Visited silverton sporting ranch last weekend for my buddies bachelor party and all I can say is WOW! I had spent many months planning this trip which included many emails and a few phone calls with Denise! She always had an answer for my thousand questions. Denise was more than a pleasure to speak with every time. My expectations were sky high right from the beginning. Upon arrival she greeted us all with a warm and friendly smile. The ranch itself was gorgeous. Cabins were just what we needed. I must start by saying Denise is absolutely amazing! She runs an incredible place nearly by herself and doesn't miss a beat! The food she prepares is top tier as well! I can't say enough good things about our weekend there. The quail hunt was a neat experience and the sporting clays were a blast. She made every possible activity available to us and made for a very memorable weekend. So many laughs and good times were shared and my expectations were blown away! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone! Thank you so much Denise! A couple pieces of advise to future attendees, don't call it skeet and remember to take the safety off the shotgun. Hahaha.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a good getaway place and some friends spent there honeymoon here. I had hunted with Denise previously so decided to make it a spring getaway. My girlfriend loved the cabin and Denise helped us with places to eat and things to do. Had a great time once again

We drove over 2 1/2 hours to take our husbands Clay Shooting. We arrived 18 minutes early for our 1pm appointment and Denise came on the porch threw her hat on the table and stood there!!! NO Hello, No Welcome, No thank you for coming so far her exact words are "Your appointment wasn't until 1 and you are too early!" We said we drove a long way and didn't want to be late. She walked back INTO her so called lodge SLAMMED the door and left us on the porch flabbergasted in 90 degree heat!! WHO DOES THAT???? Finally one of the husbands knocked on the door and she came back and he said we've traveled a long way can my wife please use the bathroom, she was allowed into the so called lodge that smelled of dog urine with flies everywhere. Denise proceeded to say she was busy and we interrupted her!!! WHAT - we are her ONLY customers!!! There wasn't even another car in sight! I told her that if she was that busy which it didn't look like but if she was to just come out and say Hello, sorry you had a long trip, welcome, sit on the porch and I'll be with you in 15 minutes!! BUT NO she had to literally walk out throw her hat and complain with NO welcome. She continued to say she we interrupted her and we shouldn't be 15 minutes early!!! We were so upset that we didn't feel safe with unstable and unbusinesslike behavior especially around guns, so we left telling her we would share her STYLE with Tripadvisor and Groupon. Praying that NOONE should EVER ever have to go there again and experience this RUDE, unprofessional and unstable behavior of someone with guns in the middle of the woods!!! There is NO Excuse for Denise to be RUDE!
