Walking into the entrance hall at Cliff House gives you the feeling of vacation. Check-in was a breeze with a super nice reception administrator, the room was ready. The views from the room are unique and stunning. We had two dinners at the hotel, the food was above par, but expensive as expected for this high end resort. We were 7 couples and were surprised about the extra $250 non-refundable cost to book the private room and table. The Spa service was very professional, each changing room (men and women) has a wet and dry sauna, but no hot tub. The Hot tub outside our building was super nice, hot, great especially on the cold day. The bed sheet was not matching the type of bed, so the sheets ended up released below you, while sleeping and the pillows were too thin, I asked for a firmer pillow on the second day and received a better pillow. The concierge Aaron was very knowledgeable. Aaron contact us a week before check-in and helped us schedule lunch and other activities around the hotel. The Cliff House should be proud Aaron is working for them. We will be back.…
From the moment you arrive you will feel like a VIP. The staff display pride in their hotel and care about your experience while there. When you come across a staff member in your walks throughout the gorgeous property, they will greet you with a friendly hello. If you need anything at all, they will accomodate. Clean, beautifully decorated rooms. Stunning views. Gorgeous grounds. Plenty to do if you want to and great spots to spend quiet time if that is your cup of tea. Truly a slice of paradise in Maine. You will not be disappointed in the hotel or surrounding towns. I am already looking at my calendar to see when I can get back there.
Overall, enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautifully designed with an absolute picturesque location. The property/rooms were extremely clean and well maintained. The food left us not feeling full and the drinks were stingy on alcohol for a pretty hefty price. Highly recommend the spa.
This hotel was my favorite place during vacation. The views from our room were breathtaking and the sound of the water was so calming. My husband enjoyed the workout room. The staff were awesome and everyone greeted us and offered assistance. It is too bad that they close Monday-Wednesday so we were not able to stay longer.
We visited last September and fell in love with the location. It's a stunning property. The rooms are good, staff is nice but they certainly don't go out of their way to make sure that you're having a great stay. But we let it go because of COVID - because as we know, that's not easy on anyone and at the end of the day we needed a change of scenery and felt safe going there. It was good enough that we decided to make a reservation to return this month (April 2021) and managed to book a great deal on Black Friday! I wanted to extend our trip by a day and saw that it wasn't available, then realized that they actually close the hotel from Monday - Wednesday until early May. Our reservation didn't have us leaving until Wednesday morning. Was never notified that they wouldn't be able to honor the reservation and was told that maybe I should call back and see if they decide to open the hotel earlier than planned (what?!). Then they said we would need to leave Monday morning (so either cut our trip short or move to another property) - didn't even try to rectify. This place has so much potential - but they are missing the opportunity to take it from good to something really great.…
