There is no way we’re flying (both in 70s with a few health issues). But we really wanted to take advantage of the nice weather before autumn turns to winter. Criteria: a place with lots of useable windows, access without contact with other guests, and a beautiful location within 8 hrs driving from eastern Connecticut. A cottage at Pilgrim’s Inn on Deer Isle was it! Boy did we luck out in every way! We rented Ginny’s cottage #2 for 4 days. Arrived to find it SPOTLESS, windows open and stocked with coffee service, robes, and everything we could possibly need! And I am certain that if there were anything else we wanted, Nicole would have found it for us! We brought plenty of groceries but Nicole provided pages of info including restaurants, grocery stores, history and sights well in advance. She was always available by text and we even managed to meet, masked of course. The cottage was comfy as could be as well as spotlessly sanitized. I had NO fears or concerns at all! The cottage is fairly near to the road, but honestly it didn’t bother us at all. The large patio area has stairs leading down to a spectacularly beautiful meadow that runs along the water and you are in another world! There’s even a big flat rock that you can stretch out on in the sun right in the middle of the water! Love Ginnys cottage and hope to return!!…
Attention to detail is the key amenity at Pilgrim's Inn. We stayed in Ginny's one for a long weekend. Spacious, comfortable and SPOTLESSLY clean room. Innkeepers are gracious and have thought of every detail. The location is everything I hoped down east Maine to be. Even with Covid, still plenty to do. We enjoyed the tasteful Coastal ambiance of our room as well as the spacious and quietly serene grounds. Pamper yourself and check this Inn out. Nicole and Scott have a polished gem here and we thank them for sharing it with us! Will definitely visit again.
In a different time safety would not be something considered, but now it is. The Rugosa cottage is a rustic and beautiful get away. It is situated on a peaceful, lovely mill pond. It is quiet. You have all you need to make simple meals - or splurge and dine at Aragosta! The hosts keep things spotless. There are wonderful nearby walks and hikes (two recommended are Settlement Quarry and Lookout Rock - unbelievable views!) We stayed twice this summer and loved every moment.
We stayed in a cottage, Ginny's 2, and loved everything about it: beautiful views, well furnished, everything we could have wanted they thought of. The Innkeepers are thoughtful in every way. They have handled COVID requirements in a wonderful way, making expectations clear and yet being welcoming at the same time, which left us reassured that our vacation was going to be safe and relaxed.
My husband and I had an amazing week in Deer Isle, with Pilgrim's Inn as our home base. We stayed in Ginny's 1--extremely clean (!!), well-stocked kitchenette for cooking breakfast and dinner. Loved spending time on the deck and on the grounds--uniquely private d/t Covid-19. Nicole and Scott were easily accessible and gave us great tips on things to do. Favorite moments included paddling on Mill Pond and in Northwest Harbor, and watching the sunset over Northwest Harbor. Excellent coffee and pastries across the street at 44 North. Definitely looking forward to returning to Pilgrim's Inn in the future.
