Camp Site was wonderful and Quiet. However the Bathrooms/Showers were not. Hair in the shower drain all week. Our campsite was where one could the bathrooms/showers and they were not cleaned all weekend or checked on.
We were able to reserve a site for a Tuesday and Wednesday night, and enjoyed a very quiet and relaxing stay. Sebec Lake is nice for swimming, and boats may be rented at the park office. The park was clean and the location is great for exploring Moosehead lake and many other regional attractions. If you're not equipped for campsite cooking, the park is close to a variety of restaurants
Me and my long time boyfriend laid out in the sun on the beach area here while staying in the area. The fee for non-residents was extremely cheap and the grounds were clean and beautiful. We would definitely go back when we visit the area again!
We stopped here unexpectedly while heading south after a visit to Canada needing a campsite for just one night. We were greeted warmly by the ranger who asked us a few questions about what we were looking for and recommended a couple of the open sites for us to consider allowing us to drive through and set up and then return to tell what we had picked. Her first recommendation was spot on and we had a nice level site, not to far from the newly built bath house with electricity, a rarity in Maine State parks. The site was well screened but not remote, a real gem. We also took advantage of the beach area to get in a short evening kayak. The bath house was amazing! The individual shower rooms which included a toilet and sink had direct access to the outside which allows a couple or family to use one jointly, a big plus. There was no charge for the hot water shower which was also nice. We thought that this State Park was worth a return visit so we could paddle more of the lakes and rivers in the area. Nearby Dover-Foxcroft has plenty of services.…
The camping spots are clean, well spaced, and appropriately sized for price. If you like to camp but still like the amenities of home they have bathrooms and showers. Its not that long of a walk as there are a couple facilities. The beach is one of the best for small kids as it is shallow for quite a distance. There are hiking trails, picnic areas as well. You can bring a boat or rent a canoe. We love this park.
