Stayed one night in late September. A lovely old house in a great position – less than 15 minutes’ drive from downtown Portland, but far enough out for you to feel you’re in the country. (Although the road it’s situated on can be quite busy at times). The building and rooms are beautifully preserved and presented, and Donna is a...

We were starting off our 2014 Cross Country Odyssey, by flying from LAX-JFK-Portland, ME, and the weather was not cooperating. Our 4:30 PM flight to Maine was cancelled for bad weather, and the following flight, scheduled for 10:30 PM didn't get into the air until the early morning hours, and we didn't land in Portland, ME until 3:30 AM. It...

This B&B is great for many reasons. I stayed here alone - I am a 29yo woman - and I felt safe, welcome, and comfortable. I can't say that about most hotels I have stayed in. The location is perfect - close to Freeport and Portland while being out of the way - a feature I really liked. It is...

We stayed at Quaker Inn and loved the atmosphere, the charm of a 1700's home and the unique service. My family enjoyed the stencils on the walls, the old fire places all the way to the old nails in the floor. My family enjoyed the quiet garden and exploring the property. They came back from the weekend talking about all...

We stayed at the Quaker Tavern for three nights in August, which is only about 15 minutes from Portland, where we spent most of our time while there. Donna was a delightful host! She was so generous and a pleasure to speak with in the mornings as she cooked us up some of the most delicious breakfasts I've had! Everything...

My mom and I frequently travel together and were so excited to come upon this place. As a vegan, she was easily able to accommodate my dietary needs as well. She was laid-back, kind and wonderful. The B&B itself had comfortable beds with a lot of old-timey touches. As I do like to seek out places a bit off of...

A charming, off the beaten track, delightful place to stay! My husband and I felt right at home at the Quaker Tavern. Donna is friendly, helpful and a great storyteller (and she makes a mean breakfast--we didn't even have to eat lunch both days!) You'll need a car to get in and out of Portland and the surrounding areas, but...

I stayed at Quaker Tavern B&B this past Labor Day weekend. My friends and I were very impressed by the charm of the house - so much history and character! We were also talking about the breakfast for the rest of the day. Donna goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and make sure you are well-fed...

Stayed two nights in room with a shower room. Bedroom was OK. Bathroom was very small but with an excellent shower. The hand basin is in a corner and is only 10 inches diameter. No shaving mirror. Downstairs is fine. Donna the host is very friendly and most helpful. Breakfast is good. The other two bedrooms upstairs shared a bathroom...
