This little Motel is the place to stay if you find yourself in this part of the country. Clean and spacious rooms. Fantastic staff that will do anything to make your stay a good one. The Canadian border crossing is directly across the street. Everything is within walking distance. Irving Gas Station is next door and is open 24/7. Makes...

In Fort Kent Maine, don't expect luxury. But this is a clean, comfortable place to rest after a busy day. Directly across the street from the border crossing, close to restaurants, close to UMFK, it was exactly what we needed. I would recommend. The only critique I have is the smokers standing right outside the front door. So in order...

We stay every year, several times per season. The location allows us to ride into town and walk to the restaurants in town. The continental Breakfast is fine. Ask for a front room as they are the new rooms.

Basic room and basic services, that's what The Northern Door offers. The reception could have been friendlier, although Sierra was pretty good. At $96.00 + tax, it was not a bargain either. The Northern Door does have a great location which is directly in front of the bridge to cross the border.

Stayed with a Nordic ski team for 3 nights in March. The location was great, could walk to dining, the border, alpine skiing, the historic Rte 1 mile marker (Fort Kent to Key West) The staff was wonderful! Very accommodating! The rooms were large, clean and well appointed for a motel. The beds were comfortable. Snowmobiles can get loud as...

Greg who works the desk went above and beyond driving my friend to the arctic cat dealership when sled was ready for pickup. We arrived without reservations but were able to get a room. Staff were very friendly, however I purchased laundry supplies from the front desk and she didn't tell me the dryer was broken. But, we made due and hung our wet clothes around the room to air dry. Good continental breakfast to get you started in the mornings.

and clean as a button. We stayed in the back building with the regulars who come in during the week to work. Nice! Our rooms had two beds and they charge per person which we thought was odd. Most motels or hotels we've stayed charge a flat rate per room, unless there are more than two. Oh, well. Tess, our...

We recently went up to Ft Kent, Me - about as far north in this state that you can go and still be in the US. Ft Kent is a very small college town that has tons of local flavor.. We stayed at the Northern Door Inn, right at the very beginning (or end) of US Route 1. Kind of...
