Because I was picking up my girlfriend late at night from the train station we decided that we wanted to stay at a place close by rather than drive all the way back up to bar Harbor that night. I started making calls late at night and Jay was definitely the most helpful and friendly person i got on the...

This inn is extremely overpriced and is infected with bed bugs!! The owners are rude and stuck up and are verbally abusive to their poor children.. There are wonderful places located in the heart of freeport that put this establishment to shame. Beware Jays overly happy and fake exterior, when I complained about the bug situation I was disrespected and...

We made the last minute decision to spend a night in Freeport, and when I called Jay, he was extremely accommodating. And from the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was superb. The room was clean, comfortable and lacked nothing. The location is close to all the shopping and dining you could want in Freeport. And their breakfast was...

I had never stayed at an inn before so I took the opportunity to stay at Applewood. I found it at www.freeportUSA.com. It is a family run business, and the family is delightful. I was the first one down to breakfast so I hung out with Papa JAY while he cooked. We were served the entire menu unless we declined...

This was our third visit to the Applewood Inn, and we were as pleased this time as we have been before. The Inn is clean, cozy and oh so relaxing. The kindness and friendship of Jay and his family to us and all the visitors is very genuine. Thank you once again for a very enjoyable weekend.

The Applewood Inn was a fantastic place to stay. Usually we stay with friends when visiting Maine, but this time we stayed here. It was absolutely fantastic. The owners were very accommodating, flexible with our crazy schedule and just plain nice. It felt like a home away from home. I look forward to our next stay.

This was one of our best B & B experiences. Charming and helpful host, very clean and comfortable accomodations and the best breakfast we have ever had! The location is very close to restaurants and shops in Freeport and also served as a nice central location for exploring Portland, Brunswick, Boothbay, Harpswell and other coastal destinations.

Booked at the last minute and were fortunate enough to get a room in this outstanding establishment. Family-owned, this B&B is well located and walking distance to an excellent shopping experience. Jay and the Family were very friendly while respecting our privacy. They had the perfect balance for a B&B. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. We...
