This place had a good price for an otherwise expensive area, although I wish it had been more forthcoming about the every-other-day maid service. Hot coffee (no breakfast) was good, and a rarity these days.

Location is close the a major grocery, LL Bean and other attractions in Freeport.

Wish the TV got major networks, not just ESPN, etc.

The Econo Lodge was available and reasonably priced for our weekend away. It was basic and clean. It had all we needed including a refrigerator. The Freeport brewery is next door and a lovely breakfast cafe, the Sunrise Cafe, is down the road.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and roomy. Bed was comfy. We slept great because it was so quiet. Breakfast was good with lots of variety such as yogurt, eggs, waffles etc. Curtis at the front desk was efficient and friendly, a very hard worker. We met lots of people who come here year after year. The only drawback is there is no elevator.

Just a quick stop heading from Portland to Bar Harbor. Had a non-smoking room and when we walked in it smelled like smoke and also musty. Hairs were in shower and sink. When I dripped some water on the tile bathroom floor and used a towel to wipe it up, I looked at it afterwards and it was black from the dirtiness of the floor. The man working in the morning at the front desk was very nice. The man who checked me in at night wasn't sure of the times of the breakfast in the morning. There is an old dirty mattress against a tree at the end of the parking lot. It served the purpose of a place to stay and was recently renovated, but not somewhere I would stay again. There were still places on the wall that were primed but not painted. Walls were very thin and could hear neighbors.

The Econo Lodge in Freeport used to be our “go to” for a quick, inexpensive weekend in Maine. It had been a few years since our last stay and we decided to head up for Memorial Day weekend. The hotel was completely different than previous visits. It’s been taken over by people who live there and give dirty looks to people there on vacation. They hang out in the parking lot making noise late at night and it doesn’t feel safe to walk around. The room itself was beat up and filthy. There was what appeared to be feces on one of the towels, the door had a poorly repaired hole (at least painting it to match would have been nice!) and the floor was so dirty our socks turned black on the bottom! We couldn’t leave fast enough and will never go back to this hotel.

I listen to the radio and there were storm warnings and since I'm camping I felt it may be safer to find a hotel. This place completely ripped me off $289 for one night ? one person? The hotel smells like mildew and the beds are almost falling apart Shower and carpets are filthy. they only had decaf coffee. Sheets so thin I almost pot my foot thru. I'm sorry to say after all my travels and staying in many hotels my experience is when a certain nationality are hotel owners the place stink.

I've tried desperately to find anything that would suggest that the photos online are not misleading but to no avail. When we pulled up last evening as a family group... we were beyond disappointed by the appearance of the property. Hopeful that we weren't judging a book by it's cover when registering we were told that it was $20.00 per dog despite their website saying $10.00. After showing that information the clerk did waive and stated that "Econo Lodge needed to update their website" No kidding... The room was basic. I wasn't expecting the Ritz..because it's the ECONO Lodge. But i did expect that the tv would work and the sheets to be unstained. I slept on top of the comforter. Lesson learned. For 186.00 evening it was a very hard lesson learned.

I reached at Econo Lodge before my check in time and the receptionist was very warm and accommodating. She did her best to make sure we were happy and she facilitated an early check-in because we had been driving long distance and needed some rest. When we finally got to the room, it was clean and well kept, we only planned on staying 2 days but we ended up spending almost a week and loved every minute of it. Highly recommend them as your next motel option if you are in the area

Outside quite shabby and dated. Smell of cig smoke outside rooms and since rooms are small, smell gets inside. To be fair, appeared clean inside. Refrig and microwave clean in room. Bed covering appeared fresh. 2 tv’s in room - go figure…. Breakfast meager at best.

Bad place for families. I booked 2 rooms which were really expensive once we realised as we checked in how old and tired this motel is. Check in was not friendly or welcoming. Very old.fashioned rooms which were in need or cleaning and refitting. Once inside the rooms smelt of poor ventilation and damp. Outside the air stunk of drugs being openly smoked day and night. Several guests were smoking drugs the whole.place was disgusting and repelling. There was no management present. The rooms went uncleaned over the 3 day period we stayed. All in all dreadful and Expedia should remove this place from its listings.
