We stayed at this property on a Thursday night in early May and found it comfortable and tidy. The gentleman who checked us in, and out, was very friendly and the process was quick and easy. Our king room on the third floor was equipped with a fridge, microwave and a large TV. The bed was comfortable and equipped with 4 full sized pillows, which we appreciated, as many hotels now use tiny half sized pillows. Bathroom with walk in shower was clean with plenty of towels, but starting to show a bit of wear; caulking, slight red mildew at edge of sliding shower door. Nothing to really complain about, it could simply use a touch up. Overall, we found the hotel in pretty good shape. They were doing some renovations in the lobby, and we were awakened briefly around 9am by some hammering, but it didn’t last long thankfully. Restaurant service was suspended due to the pandemic, but there were snacks available in the lobby, and plenty of dining options in the area. Parking is just across a quiet street opposite the main entrance. There is an outdoor seating area with a gas fire pit, and we enjoyed sitting in the sun in the afternoon for a bit. The hotel is about a block from the main drag in Freeport, and one can easily walk to shopping and dining without having to drive. Additionally, the commuter train runs just behind the property, so guests can easily catch it to nearby Portland, or a number of other destinations. While we did hear the train several times during the day, we heard nothing at night, and what noise we did hear was minimal. My wife actually mentioned how quiet the location was generally. Of course it is earlier in the season and summer is likely a bit more hectic, but during our stay we felt pleasantly removed from the main street hustle and bustle. Overall, we liked this hotel and would consider a future stay.

Hotel's Favourite
Recently my wife and I visited Freeport for a brief respite from a tiring, stressful schedule. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by Peter, the front desk manager. He was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. His warm reception set the tone for a relaxing and restful time away from home and office. The restaurant and food service were closed but this was understandable due to the pandemic. Our room is clean and we even enjoyed a swim in the pool. If you were looking for a restful, clean hotel experience, I recommend this Hilton property.

We just checked into the hotel. This is our first time attempting to get away since the pandemic and since we have been vaxed. They have all precautions in place from when you walk into the front door till you enter your room. We feel very comfortable here right now and looking forward to just relaxing and enjoying the little shops and taverns.

My son and I decided to take an overnight train trip from Boston to Freeport Maine. The Hilton Garden Inn was a very short walk from the train station and all the outlet shops. Despite the current circumstances, the check-in process was flawless. The desk agent explained all the options, and even offered a small breakfast box in the morning for free, even though the Garden Inn brand doesn't usually offer free breakfast. The room and amenities were perfect, and there were many signs explaining the cleaning procedures. On the website, they said that regrettably their indoor pool was closed, but when I called to check (my son loves pools) they said that we could use the pool by reservation only. We were able to sign up in advance for a 9pm slot. The pool is dedicated to one family only for 45 minutes, and then the whole area is deep cleaned for the next family. It was far beyond anything we expected them to do. The pool is first-come, first-served, and you can make your reservation ahead of time by calling the front desk. It was amazing having the entire pool area just for us. Someday life will return to normal, but in the meantime the Garden Inn is doing everything it can to make a stay as pleasant as possible.
