As the name of the b and b implies there is a view. It's terrific. The room I had was large enough for a queen bed. The bath was smallish with a smallish shower, no tub. There was an excellent deck with that view! Did I mention the view? This b and b is not a charming, elegant large home of the past. It is a newish large home of the 21st century. The decor however is reminiscent of your great aunt Abby's home of the 1970's or 80's. This is just a reflection of my taste but I felt that there was: Too much gilt. Too many furnishing found at local yard sales. Too many square yards of flower print wallpaper. Just too much. The breakfast is family-style meaning that no one eats until all the folks who said they wanted breakfast at that hour have arrived at the breakfast table. The meal itself could be called execeptable, but there is no opportunity to add or edit the offerings. Eat or don't eat. Yup. It's all about the view. Enjoy!…
We had a lovely room for a one night stay. Each room has its own private deck area to enjoy the special view of Acadia. You can share the main porch area which has a swing seat & table and chairs. Owners were gracious & offered us advice on sites to see in Acadia. Nice place to stay to see the Schoodic Peninsula. Breakfast was delicious! You can take a walk down to the ocean or enjoy the beautifully landscaped surroundings complete with a miniature train set. No AC but room stayed cool on a very hot day. Nice respite away from the crowds of Acadia. Fine furnishings not very kid friendly.
Looking for a comfortable and clean Inn in which to spend a four day getaway (also our anniversary) and we found it!! I chose the Cranberry Room for $214 per nite with full breakfast. We were very pleased with our room which was very clean and very comfortable. 100% Egyptian cotton sheets were out of this world comfortable. Breathtaking views from our private balcony. Jim and Pat were wonderful hosts sharing local places to go and serving delicious food to wake up to. This was a prime “in the center” place to stay for the many of the Acadia and Bar Harbor as well beautiful POI’s. Highly recommended and I’m a very fussy girl!!
Highly recommend this B&B, low key and relaxing with awesome views of bay. We originally planned to stay in Bar Harbor but glad we chose this side of Acadia NP instead. Our hosts were very helpful in recommending restaurants as well as best sites to see in the area. Very comfortable rooms, nicely appointed and delicious breakfasts.
Stayed for two nights at the end of August. Views galore overlook Acadia. I was so inspired I came home and painted the view from our private terrace (every room has one). See also my impression of a local harbor scene at a recommended restaurant serving top notch fare. Breakfasts in the morning were a real treat. We enjoyed every minute spent in the area but especially exploring the national park
