Unwind "unplugged and off the grid" in natural beauty, the way life used to be. Built in 1901, Spencer Pond Camps are an authentic and historic Maine Sporting Camp. They are the only cabins on the pond and sit in the shadow of Little Spencer Mountain. 14 miles via dirt roads from our closest neighbors, on an undeveloped and scenic pond. Recognized as an environmental leader, we offer you a choice of six rustic wilderness lakeside housekeeping cabins - each with its own unique personality. The cabins are fully furnished for comfort including screened porches, rocking chairs, woodstoves, libraries and homemade quilts on the beds.Canoes and kayaks are provided free of charge. Plumbing is "out back" and relaxation is everywhere, non-modernized without electricity and reminiscent of "Little House in the Big Woods" these cabins will take you back in time.

We just spent a weekend here - it was so nice to get away from it all. No phones or tv - so fun to experience life with no electricity! There's kerosene lights, a pump and sink in the kitchen, a refrigerator (runs on gas), and a stove and small oven. We used the stove and the fire pit outside for cooking. You walk out of your cabin to basically a private lake - no motorboats or anything. They had kayaks and canoes at our disposal as well as games like croquet and a charming tree swing by the lake. We did have bats in our cabin the first night - eek! That did not make for a restful night. That would be the one complaint I had about the experience, but the owner found the nest the next day and evicted them, and we didn't have a problem the next night. All in all we had a wonderful time!

We love Spencer Pond Camps and have been coming here for years. The beauty of the lake and the mountain, along with the wildlife, fishing, quiet and tranquility makes this a place where you can really unwind and relax. The new managers, Glenn and Sarah are very friendly and accommodating. This place is "off the grid" and the beauty will draw you back again and again. It is especially beautiful during foliage season!

This has become such a special place for my family and I. I hope the new operators maintain the peacefulness and off grid nature of this spot. Thanks to Christine and Dana for the memories they helped create that my boys and I will cherish.

Our family had wonderful stays at Spencer Pond Camps in 2018 and 2019. It is a very special place. The environment there and throughout the surrounding area is beautiful and remarkably unspoiled, and the cabins are nice and comfortable. I can sincerely say that our family loved our stays there. We hope that new operators are able to step in and continue operating it and maintain it as a place that is "unplugged and off the grid". That aspect strongly appealed to us and is pretty unique and hard to find just about anywhere this day and age. We are looking forward to staying there again.

We had such an amazing weekend at spencer pond camps, we couldn’t be happier with our stay! The cabin was super cozy and we loved listening to the loons while relaxing on the porch. The pond is absolutely beautiful and we were able to use the canoes and kayaks that they provided (we even saw a moose swimming on the pond!) The owners were also very helpful and super friendly. Such a relaxing and quite place to enjoy nature, we can’t wait to go back next year and plan to make an annual trip!
