My family has been going here since the 1970s. We spend a few days almost every summer. There is nowhere better for moose viewing, brook trout fishing, and star gazing. No electricity, so no light pollution. The meals are excellent, and the service second to none. I hesitate writing this review because I want to keep the secret to myself. But, they deserve the praise. Eric is the best. Corey is a top notch waitress as well.

West Branch Pond Camps continues to expand their trail network for one of the most pristine nordic ski experiences in the east, both for ungroomed BC and cut track groomed nordic skiers. Located inside the AMC's 70,000 acre wilderness and 90 km+ of trails, West Branch Pond Camps also a growing, market trail network, much of it on the scenic White Cap-Hay-West Peak Mountain Ridge with scenic northward looking views that take in a broad vista from Baker Mtn-Roach Pond-Mt Katahdin. Accommodations are rustic and cozy in wood stove heated cabins with hearty food served in a common kitchen with toilet/shower facilities in a centrally located bath house. The owner and his staff will tailor the trail grooming to your groups needs and provide detailed suggestions to accommodate desires ranging from a casual ski around/on the pond to a wilderness nordic experience. Cabin 9, sleeping at least 6 is good for groups and cabins 1-3 all have great views, situated directly on the pond shore.

This was my 7th or so group Nordic BC trip I've led to WBPC and it only gets better! For this year owner Eric Stirling has build upon his traditional Maine Camp hospitality with significant improvements to the beginnings of an integrated ski trail network, with marked crossing of several ravines to provide his clients with a traverse across a significant length of the White Cap Mtn ridge for a truly awesome Nordic BC experience. Plus he packs or cuts some trails at lower elevations for those who want that and for quicker access to the more remote areas. My group was more than satisfied with their experience and will be coming back for another dose next year! Of course, Eric's great hospitality and hearty great food and cabin ambience continues!

My family has been coming here for decades, and I've gone almost annually for 30+ years. An authentic Maine vacation with the perfect balance of activity vs pure relaxation. Beautiful views and surroundings, pretty much untouched by most of modern life. You get three meals a day, so there is no need to budget extra to eat, which ends of up saving a lot of money. Highly recommended!

We haven't stopped talking about West Branch since we left. We had a perfect New Years stay there. When we arrived at the camp the cabin was warm, and Eric and Chuck were so helpful and were a wealth of information about Maine and the surrounding areas. We played ice hockey on the pond and had an amazing dinner with fellow guests, along with fresh warm donuts in the morning and newly plowed xc ski tracks by Eric in the morning as we headed out of camp. We loved West Branch and can't wait to come back!
