We returned to the Harpswell Inn with friends because we had had a lovely stay a few years ago. The setting is lovely, environs perfectly Maine coast, but sadly the charm of the inn is lost. The house and rooms remain the same, but the atmosphere and care is missing. It is as if the spirit of the place is...

We stayed 3 nights in the "Captain's Quarters" unit, a large space, huge bathroom, and kitchen, all comfortably furnished. The Inn fronts the Bay on two sides, and this unit has a front porch looking to the bay. Each day was a varied home-cooked breakfast that was satisfying, and the inn keepers are a pleasant and friendly couple. Ours was...

On one of Maine’s famous “finger” peninsulas, providing a waterfront location, with 2½ secluded acres, this B&B that dates from 1761 provides a calming rural retreat. The peninsula and associated islands forms the eastern rim of Casco Bay, with so many coves, points, and islands, that the Harpswells has more shoreline than any other town in Maine. The Inn has...

My husband and I recently spent several days at the Harpswell Inn and stayed in the Coveside suite. The suite was lovely, very clean and very quiet. Situated on Harpswell Lookout Point, there are great water views from the suite and lawns. Very well run. Lovely hosts and terrific breakfast. We would go there again.

We stayed here for 2 nights in early October. This place is a delight. Such lovely people! Wonderful rooms (the floors are a bit squeaky but what do you expect from a house as old as this one?). The breakfast is awesome - i could have stayed here for much longer. Thanks Harpswell Inn for such a lovely stay!

This is a "vintage" building with lovely vintage décor. Service was friendly and outstanding. Breakfast was excellent. There is a refrigerator available in the kitchen for personal items. I attended a quilting workshop here, and staff was very attentive to our group. My only complaint is that the person(s) on the floor above got up at 5 a.m., and I...

I don't think I have ever given all 5s in my 100+ reviews. The setting is at the end of a string of bridged islands. It's setting is Beautiful! The owners are gracious and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and set with lovely furnishings. It's quiet and peaceful but with games, puzzles, newspapers available in the large living area. A...

Beautiful home, with a gorgeous room! Yummy breakfasts! Friendly, helpful hosts! Quiet street, and a short walk down to the coast for views of water, boats, and islands. We loved the guest refrigerator and the never-ending-cookie-jar! (And talk about service -- The bed was very uncomfortable for my hubby the first night, and they changed the mattress for us!!) Thoroughly...

My girlfriend and I work very crazy schedules so I was looking for a place to get away from the rat race where we live. I have never stayed at a inn/ B&B and have heard mixed reviews about them in general but I took a shot on the Harpswell. It was the best shot I've taken in a while....
