I can't stress enough how helpful the staff at Kennebunkport Inn were. The daily text messages saved the day on many occasions and made us feel very secure being in a new town. The daily breakfast scones and muffins made their way back to Maryland because they were THAT good! We are also obsessed with Natalie's Orange Juice now, the hunt is real!! The location of Kennebunkport Inn was the perfect girl’s getaway and coming back to the fireplace in our room was the perfect ending to each wonderful night. The staff also assisted us with reservations at the very sought-after, Boathouse Restaurant. For this we are forever grateful as the food was splendid and the ambiance of red lights created the most romantic 'Galantine’s' dinner. Everything about this area is Instagram-worthy! We truly appreciated the extra touches (hand sanitizers, board games, blankets and fireplaces galore) provided for guests in all the main rooms of the lobby level. The hotel decor was beyond what we imagined. Every amenity we possibly needed was provided, including the emergency toothbrush and toothpaste. To cap off our amazing trip we ate dinner at Earth at Hidden Pond. To describe this experience properly, I would need 1000 more words. The food was heavenly, the decor and furniture were beguiling. It exceeded our expectations and left us in awe. Its days later and we are now trying to find it's equivalency in D.C., although we know this search is moot. I can't find enough words to thank you all for the service provided and we will surely return to experience Kennebunkport’s warmer season. We are already recommending it to everyone we know. We wish you all the best and thank you again for making us feel like VIP guests.

My friends and I are local and have been in each other’s “bubble” all through quarantine. We were desperate for a change of scenery.

We reserved outdoor curling & took advantage of the Christmas deal (15%, an ornament and morning treat). The hotel is decorated so classy and festive for the holidays. It feels like an old movie set.

The igloos were super fun & our server was very attentive. We were never rushed & really enjoyed our lunch. The drinks were dangerously good but a little pricey (that’s KPT for ya).

At check-in, I was given real keys with a cute LL Bean keychain. The room was spacious, super clean and had great linens. They also provided a container of local sanitizers and masks. Everyone is wearing masks at all times and hand sanitizer is everywhere.

At check out, I accidentally forgot a shopping bag with Christmas presents inside. By the time I came back, the room had already been cleaned. The front desk person tracked down my items (the paper bag was accidentally thrown away with our take out bags), cleaned them off for me, rewrapped the bottles in tissue & found me a new paper bag! Above and beyond!

Very very happy with our stay and much needed break from real life. Thank you!

We were absolutely delighted to be able to stay a couple of nights at the Kennebunkport Inn. It was the perfect location for walking and dining experiences. They also had bikes offered for guest experience which I thought was splendid idea. Main lobby, dining area, hallways were updated in a gorgeous seaside design. I believe some guest rooms have been updated but the wing we are in had not seen Renovations. Also note there was no access to elevator, if mobility is an issue. Our room had antique furniture however wall vinyl, window treatments flooring and washrooms could of been updated. The old postered beds were gorgeous but you cannot have plywood under them to hold up mattress! Room was extremely clean though needed fresh air in room . I went to open and windows were nailed shut..... though I took nails out! The air outside from the coast is so beautiful. The staff all seemed very helpful and friendly. In addition we went there for morning brunch....did not enjoy the quality of the meal in addition to the time to be served. Overall I would recommend. Looks like they are progressing to make updates! It is nice to see these places being kindly and thoughtfully restored. The owner must be commended for the steps being taken.

We recently spent three nights at the Kennebunkport inn this fall.
We are frequent visitors to the area over the past 50 years and have enjoyed many different types of accommodations from sea side motels to home rentals.
On this trip we chose to stay at the kennebunkport inn and take advantage of walking out the door to local restaurants and shops and enjoy the in house bar restaurant.
When we arrived in our room we found a form letter informing us there would be no maid service what so ever for the duration of our stay due to Covid protocol for our own safety. While a nice sentiment no staff in the Inn were wearing masks and no other covid protocols were in place. When we pressed the staff on the subject they admitted it was due to lack of staff and not Covid. We asked if this was advertised anywhere at the time if booking and the answer was no. We had to insist they provide maid service as it is a basic tenant of the hospitality industry. They reluctantly agreed however we received the bare minimum.
As well a part of the restaurant is offered as a place to take your continental breakfast and the floor around the table was littered with food debris from the night before.
While the Inn is beautifully decorated the polish is starting to fade; old acrylic showers with moldy caulking, rusting radiators, layers of dust on the furnishings and carpets in desperate need of cleaning.
The third strike came upon checkout . When we reviewed our statement we noticed the 1% charity (tax) contribution automatically added to our bill . When we inquired about it the lovely young woman on duty at the desk explained it was voluntary. All be it voluntary it was added without asking us if we wanted to participate. We opted to have the 1% removed on principal due to the above and as well we actively support our own charities .On this subject I wonder when the group that owns the Inn donate the funds collected do they do offer the funds crediting the gracious donations of their patrons or do they take credit for funds given by others?
And we were not the only guests feeling dissatisfied; on the second morning while we were in the lobby several other guests made complaints to change rooms and or checked out early due one problem or another.
In closing I do have to say that the staff on duty at the Inn were polite and did what ever was n their power to help the situation. This being said an establishment belonging to this Hotel group and charging what they do should never allow these situations to arise. We would definitely think twice before booking at any of their establishments.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback regarding your recent visit here with us at the Kennebunkport Inn. I am certainly disappointed to learn we were not able to meet your expectations throughout your stay. While stayover service was originally paused due to the global pandemic, our current staffing reality prevents us from restoring that particular service at this time. However, although we do not offer a traditional stayover service, we do ensure all of our guests are provided with any additional items needed throughout their stay. Lastly, I do sincerely apologize for any confusion over our Community Impact Fee. As a company, we strongly believe in re-investing in our community which we feel will ultimately continue to make Kennebunkport a desirable destination for guests such as yourself. I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season and I truly hope you will choose to visit with us again in the future!

The Inn is charming. The front porch a wonderful place to sit a people watch.
The staff very helpful. So helpful that when our rental car broke down about a mile and 1/2 away (no Ubers anywhere- they say it’s a Covid thing) the staff offered to come pick us up. That is a 10+ in customer service. The awesome staff sends a daily text of tips/ideas of things to do in and around town.
Being centrally located is a huge bonus as traffic and parking in Dock Square is a challenge. Sweet vintage style Postcards are free for you to send to friends and family. (Postage included!). Remembering the Inn is old but definitely modernized my hair dryer tripped the fuse several times (rm 101) staff quickly got the switch flipped. We enjoyed the free bikes and beach towels available on request. Chairs for the beach would be a nice addition to offer guest. We called a local rental place but there was a 3 day min to rent. (plan to pay 25$ a day foe beach parking)

During this post Covid time this hotel is struggling with staffing issues just like all of the service industry. Be prepared for no daily housekeeping service (fresh towels and breakfast in a bag) are at your door every morning. Also the restaurant and bar along with many others in the area are closed on Monday/Tuesday.

Kennebunkport Inn is right in the heart of Dock Sq, Kennebunkport. Great for walking to restaurants, shops, cruises, etc. Sadly the room (which was over $600/nt with taxes and fees) was small, the mattress was old, the decor was non-existent (not a single piece of art on the wall), TV was too small to see properly, and there was NO maid service whatsoever for the entire length of our visit. Instead, they give you a card to fill out to ask for anything you need (like tp, coffee pods, fresh towels, etc)- and they leave an envelope requesting a tip for the cleaner. I feel terrible for the maids who have essentially been cut out of the operation!

The inn offers a continental breakfast in an attractive but cramped breakfast room. There is seating outside on the deck but it was soaking wet in the morning and no one wiped it dry - and there were no towels provided for gusts to wipe down the table and chairs.

They use only disposal items for breakfast service and did not provide any knife to cut the bagels for toasting. I asked about this and was told they "could not locate a knife." Really? They have a full bar and restaurant in the building. Also the toaster blew a circuit every time someone tried to use more than two slots.. Guests from previous days became guides for new guests on how to work around the system. While there was someone intermittently "attending" the breakfast room, she never wiped a table or refreshed the paper plate supply. Every person at breakfast commented on the ridiculous situation.

I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to provide us with valuable feedback. We strive to provide every guest with a truly memorable experience and clearly fell short in delivering on that goal during your stay. Our housekeeping services are a reflection of our staffing realities and not a result of us being unwilling to employee the appropriate number of staff. In regards to the continental breakfast, I certainly apologize for any and all gaps in service you experienced. We do put out a bagel slicer with our continental offering and I will absolutely follow up with my team to ensure our guests have the appropriate tools at their disposal. Again, thank you for your feedback and I truly hope you will stay with us again in the future as I am confident you will depart with a far different impression of our Inn!

The location of the Kennebunkport Inn is perfect for exploring the area. We had a room in the Riverview wing (I think it was 228). The room had a really bad musty smell. We should have asked for a room change but didn’t and spent the first night in that room. The room was so damp and the smell was bad and we requested a change the next morning. Luckily, they were able to accommodate our request and our next room on the 2nd floor of the same building was fine. We asked for the room change at 9 am and they said we would need to wait for checkout which is completely understandable. I thought they might have expedited the room switch given the situation but we didn’t get into the new room until 3:30 pm. We did complete an online review from the inn which specifically asked if there were any issues but we never had a response from management. I don’t think they should be charging almost $500 per night for a room that is not only unpleasant but unhealthy. If you stay, make sure it is not a first floor room in the river building.

The Kennebunkport Inn is a cozy Inn that is conveniently located near Dock Square. For the Valentines weekend, we enjoyed the Gondola Apres, nicely decorated, heated and cozy, good variety of options on the menu. The Inn also served dinner and there was music. We attended the Valentines wine event, nice variety of wines but the pairings could have been better. Breakfast was very light and simple with coffee, tea, muffins and fruit. It's not a hot breakfast that an Inn would normally serve so if you are expecting that, then it's not! Nevertheless, we had a lovely stay, large room with a fireplace and would return since we have stayed there on several occasions.

While the location is beautifully unique, the Inn itself is not much different than a lot of other hotels. The décor is charming and quaint, but the overall experience wasn't anything I couldn't get elsewhere for half the price. Also, while I was there a member of staff hung the breakfast bag over my service room door hanger, so my room wasn't cleaned. It would seem that the staffer should have had enough common sense to realize that they shouldn't block the service hanger. By the time I arrived back to my room there was no staff to be found anywhere, because they leave at night. I had to wash my coffee cup in the sink so I could have coffee the next morning.

After booking 2 nights at The Kennebunkport Inn, only then did I start reading some of the reviews. I usually ALWAYS go to Trip Advisor reviews FIRST. Had I done that first, I wouldn’t have booked here due to the many poor reviews. I did not find the resort to be ANYTHING like many reviews had reported….and I’ve stayed in lots of places all over the world.

We found this B&B to be nothing but delightful. Perhaps throughout the pandemic, they have cleaned up their act and corrected the things that many people were complaining about.

A friendly guy greeted us in the parking lot with a card to hang on our mirror. Right by our car, in their yard, we saw the available bikes for us to use… none of them were old and rusty. He then directed us to the front desk. They too were very welcoming to us and escorted us to our room while showing us and explaining to us each of the many rooms along the way.

There was a mini freezer on each floor filled with little bags of ice for us to use if we needed them. None of the carpets were dirty or worn (as reported earlier)

We stayed in a Riverside King room. Although small, the bed was wonderful, 4 pillows, white down comforter along with a small bathroom that was clean and bright. We were very excited to have our own AC in our room that we could make as cold as we wanted. It was in the 90’s throughout our trip.

We ate dinner in their restaurant the first night. The manager was there to meet and greet all the people. He was super friendly and commented that this was his favorite part of his job… greeting all the people. Most of the diners were not staying at the Inn but commented that they came there to try it due to its wonderful and upscale reputation throughout the island.

In previous reviews, many people commented that the morning muffins that they hung on each door for breakfast was stale and bad. The Inn must’ve listened to the reviews because they stopped doing that. Instead, the breakfast room on the first floor had breakfast bars, yogurt, bottles of OJ, a variety of bagels, pumpkin bread and coffee. A Keurig machine was also in our room.

Enjoy this Inn if you can… it’s not cheap but oh so worth it!!

Hi Green H -- Yes, there is a wheelchair access ramp into the Inn. There are a few hotel rooms located on the first floor as well as our restaurant, The Burleigh. Please do call us and we would be happy to assist you in securing room reservations for a first floor guest room. Thank you!

Hi Jennifer, Thank you for your question. The larger rooms are classified as either deluxe or premier. The difference between the two is that premier rooms have a fireplace. You may have stayed in perhaps the premier queen room or one of the deluxe kings in the riverhouse.
