I discovered Big Moose while looking for a place to stay during a vacation to Millinocket, Maine in May 2016. What a great place! Everything is decorated with antiques, the cabins and bathrooms are spotless! The staff is friendly and the price is reasonable. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we came back the following October and we already... More

This is a wonderful Inn to enjoy your vacation near Baxter State Park. Besides being very clean and comfortable, the staff is very accommodating. From the hotel staff to the pub employees, everyone is friendly and helpful. We had the king suite which had its own bathroom and king sized bed. The bed was so comfortable we were rested and... The Big Moose cabins were recommended to us as the most convenient non-camping location to Baxter State Park where we hiked. That they are. But it rather blew by me when we booked here that these were classic Maine cabin camps, i.e. a get back to nature, less frills/quiet, disconnect from the world accommodation on purpose - not your typical... This is a very remote area, so your expectations should be low. But the Big Moose surprises you with clean, comfortable rooms in the inn. Yes, you'll have to share a bathroom. The rooms are small, but comfortable. The service is great. The breakfast is filling, and tasty, with something different fixed on a tiny grill each morning. Came here... More

The inn was nice enough though basic. We were supposed to stay second night but the weather was iffy and there isn't much to do other than lake activities or head to the park but we had already had our fill camping and hiking and boating before we arrived. We felt it was very overpriced but they do have the... More

Called to book a cabin and were told "private bathroom" but not that your private bathroom is in a separate building with all the other cabins private stalls. Showers-the same on the other side of the same building. Was not made clear we were to bring our own towels although do note that on the website ... but not everyone... More

I stayed here for 2 nights with extended family. What a wonderful experience! We stayed in The Owl (cabin 3)& there were plenty of beds for all 7 of us. We had kids with us & they loved exploring Lake Millnocket & the beach across the street. We used the canoes & kayaks. It was a treat to see Mt.... More

Upon arrival at the Inn after a 5 hour drive from Boston it was immediately evident that we were in the middle of the most rustic of offerings Maine's wilderness has in its possession. This 165 year old building has been expanded over time and is absolutely spotless !! Walking into the foyer you are greeted by a "Big Moose"... More

We were really impressed with the Big Moose Inn, as it was located in the middle of the Maine woods. It was not perfect, but it was almost perfect for us. Based on the previous reviews here and the website, I expected the rooms in the inn to have lakeviews, lots of space, and standard hotel amenities like wifi and central air. I wasn't dissatisfied with my stay, but none of these expectations were met. It's a kitschy inn with very small rooms; ours barely fit the full sized bed and... More

Hello Wesley! Some of our rooms do have limited space. These are the rooms that have not been renovated - I assume you stayed in Room 6 or 8. Our inn has a lot of history, including it's time as a home. We have added on larger rooms, spacious suites, the restaurant, bar, and much more. I'm sorry to hear... More
