Went here for the moose tour. It was a bit of a schlep to reach it but well worth it. Our guide Glenn was good-humored and informed. He took us for a hike into the woods and to two spots on the lake in search of moose. It was not until our way back in the van that we spotted...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the NEOC Campground for our latest Katahdin hike. When we arrived, no one was in the office so we set up our site assuming the site number on our reservation was still accurate. While setting up our neighbor returned from his hike and immediately wandered over suggesting we request a new site! He reported...

If you want to be in a great place with class 5 river rapids, a great restaurant, lodging, views of Katahdin and shuttle service into Baxter State Park this is the place to go. The staff is amazingly friendly and the firepit at night is the place to be.

Excellent stay in the "Snowy Owl" cabin over the long weekend. Beautiful new styled cabin with a full kitchen and concrete in floor heating with tasteful decor. Two bathrooms and plenty of room for our group of 5 during our relaxing nights after hiking and water rafting. Gas BBQ was handy although a visit to the River Driver restaurant is...

Outstanding rafting experience! And bunkhouses are amazing! Immaculate, smelling of fresh pine, with fire pits and gorgeous views. This campground has a pristine location. Highly recommend it for rafting and accommodation! Meals are another story. They're open very limited hours and are ridiculously slow. When I was there, there were 3 parties in the dining room, and 3 staff members....

Family rafting trip went as planned thanks to "Sammy" our awesome guide. His approach with us as clients was exceptional. He took an interest in learning our names and sharing information about the area. Our 1st experience could not have been better. A class act organization. Planning our next trip now. If overcast and in doubt "Go for the Wet...

We stayed in a very quaint & rustic cabin. Whine it was dated, it was very charming and had a full kitchen and wifi. We also were right on the lake with excellent views. I would definitely go back as it's a terrific area and the staff is very friendly.

I stayed at NEOC in June 2016 while attending a photography workshop and NEOC was where our host and workshop leader set us up. There were 5 in our group plus the leader and I think I speak for all of us, that it was delightful. Our accommodations were clean, roomy and comfortable. I think our "cabin" slept about 12,...

We were unlucky on our moose watching tour in that it was too hot for the moose to leave the trees to browse at the lakeside. Our tour guide was determined though and we did get a long distance view of a moose through binoculars and heard another crashing through the undergrowth. She was well informed and informative but the...

“We stayed in Wax Wing cabin and loved it. Big two bedroom, good kitchen, which we did not need to use. A few steps from the lake.”

“We stayed in #8 Snowy Owl, one of the newer rooms. It was very quiet. Fully equipped kitchen. View of the lake is blocked by the forest, but you could still see it a little bit through the trees. We chose this cabin because it is further from the main lodge area, which means there is less traffic, quieter, but some of those other main cabins (I think those are also the older ones) have views of the lake so that's the trade off. There wasn't a "real" patio area but they may be planning on building one. When we were there, there was a table and chairs set up to the side of the house by the grill, which worked but we ended up moving it to the front of the cabin by the lake so we didn't have to look at the cabin next door! The cabins are fairly spread out. You can see the ones to either side but there is a decent distance between them.”
