My wife and I had no reservations when we went to Newcastle, Maine recently on vacation; after being turned away at one (fully booked) location, we found the Newcastle Inn. It was beautiful and quiet, on the water, with helpful staff. We were delighted with our stay there. We can't recommend them highly enough.

The Newcastle Inn is a hidden gem. My husband and I love the Damariscotta area of Maine and found the Newcastle Inn to be the perfect location for our 2 nights stay. Once we checked in, we decided to explore the back yard. We sat in the two Adirondack chairs and just took in the view of the River and...

This is a great place, and I just wish I could have stayed longer! The backyard was probably my favorite - sloping down to the river, lined with flowers, and all set up with a pair of Adirondack chairs - but the room was lovely too. The decor in the room and the common areas was really nice: cheerful and...

My wife and I just returned from 5 days at the Inn. If you're visiting the Damariscotta area in Maine, the Newcastle Inn is the perfect focal point from which to explore. It's beautifully decorated and maintained and we're already missing the consistently delicious breakfasts on the deck (overlooking the river). It's also within comfortable and pleasant walking distance of...

We have traveled the Maine coast several times and find that the Newcastle/Darmariscotta area an excellent midcoast choice over the Camden or Boothbay areas. The Newcastle Inn provides good breakfasts, well maintained and furnished rooms and common areas, and plenty of late day snacks and drinks to make for a pleasant stay.

We have traveled up and down the coast of Maine for years, and the Newcastle Inn is the perfect mid-coast location. Our room was lovely and well-appointed with a separate sitting room and spacious bathroom.
