This is by no means a luxury property. Kind of a throwback with wi-fi. But the suite was well laid out, plenty of space for 5 and it was incredibly clean. Kitchen was equipped with the basics. Staff could not have been more helpful. Our stay was as the season was winding down, but it was pretty quiet. Train 150 yards away was interesting! Great value!
This was our third year here. Spent two nights. Lafayette continues to upgrade the entire property and it looked great. (They do have an elevator for the third floor now). We had two queen beds (divided by the bathroom) with a great view of the ocean (right behind the Governor’s Cottage). We asked the front desk for a cot and a microwave and both were quickly brought. Beds were good, including the cot. Mini kitchen worked well. Room was not big, but the cot fit okay. Great balcony. For a big complex, it was quiet in the morning. One room had a fairly big TV, and the other had a ridiculously big TV (55 inches?)Took up too much space. A couple little dings: there were A LOT of people here from Massachusetts, and with Covid it just made me leery (most were probably not respecting the quarantine rules). There some loud, obnoxious people from NY in the parking lot right under our balcony one afternoon, tearing around on a scooter, beeping the horn repeatedly, etc. We have never encountered that kind of low-rent stuff at Waves before. The pool had a few wild, unsupervised teens and kids one day....first time we have ever seen that, too. We told the front desk and they did send some one right over, (We also used the pool at neighboring sister property, Sea View. It was great, and we were the only ones there....they are not really using that property much due to Covid, it seems). Price was a bit high, given Covid.....$200 plus tax. But all in all, another nice stay. If you want to be right on the beach, Waves is great.…
could not use shower, very scary, did not look like the shower tracts had been cleaned, black, moldy looking. also stuff on mirror in bathroom. fridge door would not close properly .overhead light burnt out.
We stayed in the train suite. Our 3 year old loved it! Yes it was a little loud a couple times in the early morning but my husband and son slept through it. Very comfortable room with a nice little balcony to watch the train go by
It’s so sad that we have to believe brochures that these places advertise it. This is by far Not A Resort. I have stayed in resorts all over the country as I never want just a motel room. Well guess what. This is the worst motel room I have ever stayed in. Floor was filthy so I left my socks to prove it. The room itself was clean however missing some things such as a microwave and no paper toweling or salt and pepper. Gave you pots and pans tho. Duh!!! We were right on top of the railroad which we were told after paying for the room. The furniture was so out dated it was a joke but gJess what. It had not only but 2 50inch TVs one for each bed another Duhh. Never have been so disappointed. A Resort this Is Not. Only saving grace was the weather these 3 days. Oh and it says no pets allowed ... 2 doors down in walks a couple with their dog. Don’t give me that it was a therapy dog either. It was a shitchu dog on a lease. Cute not so and I do like dogs. Anyway end of our very unhappy 3 days at the Waves. People working there were very nice tho. …
