I was surprised the only reviews I could find for this property were 3 on google that were 2-4 years old. My husband & I recently traveled to Maine for a wedding & decided instead of staying at the family's lake cabin further north of the wedding location, we would stay on the beach. We were fortunate to find a room in the Wind Song building so close to our travel date. Please note this review is for this ONE building only. There are several buildings that are part of the Beach Walk Oceanfront Inn. The owners also own others properties, which I believe was one of the reasons it was so difficult to find accurate reviews. Every time I googled Beach Walk I would get Alouette! Speaking of the Alouette, we had to go there to check in & out, but it was only a short walk. It would have been helpful if this was in our reservation confirmation because it was raining lightly when we arrived & because we flew in from GA we traveled very lightly & had no rain gear. We had driven right by it! No big deal though. If you are interested in staying here I would suggest you go to the Beach Walk website & click on the 'Rooms' tab. They have a photo of each building & floor plan layouts. The ones for the Wind Song were 100% accurate. They mention the rooms have balconies, but I wanted to mention these are not typical 'hotel' balconies. It is actually a wrap around porch, with a table & chair outside your door. Your neighbors may walk on by while you are sitting there. This is not uncommon for the beach side inns. We had breakfast there both mornings looking out on the ocean. The room was an average size & was not a surprise. The shower was awesome & the water pressure was excellent. Based on a few comments I read, I wanted to mention the door to your room is a sliding glass door. The lock is not flimsy as I had read & the curtains are not pinned together, but are on curtain hooks. This is Maine. These buildings were built years ago. This also means they were built well. We did not hear one sound from a room next to ours. This property had been renovated & we thought it was very nice. Keep this in mind. Unless you can afford to pay $400+ a night you will be staying in a typical ocean front inn. This is not a 5 star hotel. There is no ice machine on the property or hair dryers in the rooms. But there is a refrigerator, microwave, toaster & coffee maker. Stop at a grocery store & pick up a few supplies. Keep in mind my room/building comments/details are for a side unit in the Wind Song. The front units looked really nice. Not only did they have the sliding glass doors, but also had windows on the side of the room. Look closely at the building layout, the room layout & photos. Also, the area was well lit at night. It's right on the beach so the lighting is fine to go out after dark. Everyone I spoke with or met was very nice. Claire (room service) was very accommodating when we told her when we needed to be in the room to get ready for an afternoon wedding. We also saw her help out another guest as well. I know this is a long review, but there is just nothing out there helping people decide whether this is may be what you are looking for. We were skeptical, but we would definitely go back & the Wind Song would definitely be our first choice. You cannot get any closer to the beach.

This is part of the Alouette's properties. The room was pretty small and clean enough. We got a last-minute Friday night stay so it was also pricey. The bathroom was just plain tiny (smallest sink, shower, and mirror I've ever seen), but it did have a decent kitchenette. The bed was not really comfortable, kind of like a cot feel. The people at check-in were far from friendly. Can't recommend Alouette's properties at this time.

This is an average hotel with great access to the beach and to the boardwalk area of OOB -- only 3/4 of a mile to walk. We were lucky to stay there -- they had vacancy in high season (mid-July) for a four day, over-the-weekend reservation one day in advance. the rooms were clean and were cleaned daily -- although the maids will not clean the room if you are in there. The kitchenette is a good feature. if you are there for the beach and don't plan to spend time in the room, this is a good option. We comfortably slept four. If you;re looking for a big TV, go someplace else. haha.

we stayed in wind song #8 on the beach on room in top floor. I must say the location was amazing. I guess that is what we paid for. The room was so small and like another review said ...
There was no phone in the room, and there were no hair dryers. The room is set to sleep 4, but if you unfold the day bed, there wouldn't be any room to walk. The beds werre so uncomfortable, it was the worst sleep ever. We choice to come here to relax after driving to New Jersey, New York and Boston, of all the hotels this was the worst sleep due to the beds and very little space. Lastly, the internet was awful, very slow and most times could not connect - this is a concern when traveling with teenagers and contacting home. The bathroom was tiny also. In Canadain dollors it was close to 300.00 a night - very over priced, but again the location was amazing.

Although we have visited OOB in the past for day trips while staying in near by Ogunquit, myself and my husband just returned from our first days long stay (9/2-9/6) at OOB. We also were traveling with our beagle. Our room at the Beach Walk was exceptionally clean and everything worked!! There were 2 double beds, a bath with a shower (no tub) and a kitchen with hotplate, sink, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker and table that sat 4. Silverware, plates, pots and pans were also included. We were just steps away from the ocean and had a limited view of the ocean from the side porch which had a table and chairs and wood benches shared by 3 rooms. It is a small hotel with 9-10 rooms and was very quiet. It is part of the Alouette Resort and Lodge. Although check in and a breakfast cafe were located a few doors down at the Alouette we never felt inconvenienced. Mr Kennedy, the owner was friendly and extremely accommodating making sure we had everything we needed. Not having to load up the car, drive to a beach and pay $15-20.00 for parking was fantastic. Being able to walk from the beach to the room anytime you needed to was priceless. Also if you are traveling with a dog, after Labor Day, your dog can go on the beach at anytime of the day and night which was an advantage (other parts of Maine do not allow this until 9/15 or later). Although some stores and restaurants were closed for the season, there were still enough open to satisfy my shopping and dining needs. At this time of year, there were more families and seniors than young people. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning next year.

This motel is located near the entrance of a public beach, which is the only thing it had going for it. When we walked in, they increased the price of the room from the advertised price and said "if you don't like it, you can go some where else." The room ended up costing $40 extra each night. They charge you for every thing, such as chairs, umbrellas, use of a grill, pets, parking, and there was minimal toiletry supplies.

The TV, microwave, refrigerator, lamp, and toilet did not work. The rug was torn and rolled up in places with several stains. The water from the faucet smelled and when I tried to close the drain, it came completely out of the sink. You could either plug in the air conditioner or the lamp. There were wires hanging everywhere and poorly covered up old outlet boxes. The bedding was at least 20 years old and covered a hard, uncomfortable double bed. Sleeping for 4 means 2 people in a double bed with one person on a day bed and the last person on a "trundle bed", which was just a piece of plywood with a small foam cushion on it. Their pool was in the middle of their parking lot.

The staff was rude, unprofessional and the motel room was the filthiest room I have ever stayed in. The price gouging happened to everyone and they said people are usually "content with it" when they are told that "supply and demand can make us increase our prices any time we want."

Staff was very nice, room was clean and updated. We stayed on the 2nd floor of the Wind Song, so we had a balcony with a beach view. Down side to this building, the balcony was not private and the bathroom was tiny (although neat and clean). Upside, the price was phenomenal (we stayed the last week of the season October 8th-13th). They do have several other buildings to stay at in the Alouette Resort properties that occupy the general area and offer a range of different amenities... depends on the price you want to pay. They also gave a complimentary breakfast in their restaurant.

If you’re looking for something fancy and spacious-go elsewhere. If you love a beautiful ocean view, the convenience of walking right onto the beach from your motel room, you’re in luck. I’d read some pretty horrid reviews after booking our vacation at wind song motel-I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised. Fred was actually very kind and professional, they allowed us an early check-in, the room was small but had many conveniences. Microwave, toaster, fridge/freezer. (No hair dryer) the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The showers temperature was inconsistent, and was tricky to regulate. The views from our room and the balcony were stunning. We’ve already booked a room for next summer. Oh, and the beach wasn’t crowded at all-went for a gorgeous walk on the beach every morning-perfect view of the sunrise too.

We rented a second floor apartment in a four unit building. The apartment was "ok", except very small bathroom and out-of-date furnishings, etc. However, we almost feel down the access stairs because they were very steep and had NO hand rails (except for four outside steps. I cannot understand how a business in direct violation of the national building code can operate, and allow a very dangerous situation to exist.
