We recently stayed at the Black Bear Inn twice -- an overnight stay heading to the Atlantic Provinces, and another overnight stay heading home. We found the staff amazingly accommodating, helpful, and extraordinarily nice. Nick and Jamie, in particular, were wonderful! Complimentary wine and cookies in the late afternoon / early evening were a welcome surprise for us and our...

Stayed here after week of camping in BSP so that we could get a fresh start for UMaine tour. People were friendly and helpful. Room noisy due to I95; turned on the AC for whitenoise. Breakfast area too small and not laid out well. Offered a grilling area out back, but you have to walk around the hotel if you...

The hotel is very nice, rooms nice and clean but VERY EXPENSIVE. This is a hotel people nothing more. The continental breakfast was poor to say the least; not much for breakfast and the room to get the food and sit down and eat were very, very small. We will have to find a place less expensive if our son...

Took my wife and 2 1/2 year old on a trip back Maine to visit my Alma mater, U Maine. The Black Bear Inn was the perfect place for the first leg of our trip in Orono. The breakfast area is perfect for travellers with young children, allowing you to get the kids some food before heading to your next...

Very clean and comfortable. Cute country bear decor....and complementary wine and cheese from 5 to 6. A perfect place to stay if your are just passing through or staying a few night. Easy access to highway and umaine and very near restaurants and theaters.

My wife and I came in for a 1 night reservation on our way back from our son's graduation @ UMaine. Hotel was clean, spacious and came with a view of the river to kill for. Would highly recommend to one and all.

Room was clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. However, between the noise of the highway just outside our window and the noise of the heating unit, we got very little sleep! The breakfast room is very small but served a decent continental breakfast.

Arrived at 5:15 p.m.and was told our room wasn't ready - yet two other sets of people came in after us and got their room and key right away. hmmm, Room/bed was comfortable enough although lots of car/truck noise from...
