We were so close to giving the Danforth a 5 rating, but there were a couple of niggles that held us back. Location was fine. Not really walkable in to the town, but an easy cab ride. Bret was a great host, and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is well-maintained, and has some beautiful common areas, with an eclectic...

We loved our 2 days at The Danforth, our room was beautiful and comfy, the breakfasts were delicious and our host was so gracious that he carried our luggage up the stairs for us. We had a great time staying there and felt like we were at home. Highly recommend it!!

We stayed here for three nights and had a fabulous experience. We definitely recommend and would stay here again if we visit Portland in the future! Brett was friendly and knowledgeable and recommended some great places for us to see. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and they even had printed menus with our names, a nice touch! They had...

Our trip to Cabo got cancelled, so we decided at the last minute to travel East to explore Portland, Maine. The Danforth had one room left, and we booked it. Brent met us outside and helped us with our luggage. Brent greeted us by name and took the time to show us the property. Our room was perfect, with a...

This is a beautiful building located in a charming area of Portland. When we stayed it was in the process of being renovated following a change in ownership, although there was no disturbance to our stay. The service and food (breakfast) were both fantastic. I would throroughly recommend it.

The Danforth is the new project in Portland of the owners of the Camden Harbor Inn in Camden ( which is also excellent). It is a great property already and will be even better after the planned renovation this winter. It is extremely well run and a perfect location in the West End of Portland. The manager, Bret, does a...

It was my first time in Portland, ME. I wanted to stay at a B&B my first visit. My partner surprised me for my birthday and booked The Danforth for our two night stay. This was the quintessential B&B experience. The innkeepers were friendly, courteous and upon arrival, gave us a map with extensive recommendations on local places to go...

We had a lovely stay at The Danforth. We had a fantastic stay and can't wait to come back! The hotel was beautiful. The room was clean and gorgeous. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. The location is decent, only a 10 minute walk from downtown Portland.
