This inn has operated here for over 100 years. The age of the building leads to many quirks, some good, some bad. Good - character, charm, history - very comfortable bed Bad - rooms are a bit small. The shower was tight for a single man of average size. - noise - we were on the second floor facing the...

I was looking at the pictures, and wow, our room was half of these pictures. We were in 11C, very small room, high but still small bed, shared bathroom. The A/C was very noisy, but the room was neat and clean.. Loved the soaps! The breakfast was OK, some fruits, muffins, bagels etc. thanks God they had soy milk. I...

Comfortable, easy to get to, helpful staff. Price is reasonable. Down side..no elevator, about 1.5 miles from the waterfront. That said, would stay here again..probably will. Has the charm of an older hotel, not something thrown together that looks like every other place.

The Inn is a good place to stay with very friendly and helpful staff and a cozy and comfy atmosphere. The prices are ok and the rooms are clean and in good shape. The only downpoint was breakfast and the aera to have it in which is far to small and narrow.

My boyfriend and I left it late to find a B&B in Portland for an overnight trip. Portland is not a cheap place to stay and looking around all the good, reasonably priced B&B's were booked. Fortunately for us, the Inn at St John had space and we took a chance despite the fact it looked a little dated in...

Beautiful rooms and very friendly staff. This is an older hotel but very beautifully decorated and every room is different. There is no elevator, so if this is a problem, ask for a room on the main floor. They had a nice breakfast with great choices and fresh cookies all day, along with water bottles available too.

Recently my wife and I spent several days at the Inn at St. Johns in Portland. It bills itself as an historic (that means pretty old) Victorian hotel. And that is indeed what it is. While it is old and in some ways showing its age, the hotel provided us with a nice stay. The room was comfortable, well appointed,...

This Inn is an easy drive from downtown Portland (about a 20 - 30 minute walk) and in easy access to all the highways. The staff were helpful and friendly, rooms and bathrooms clean and the decor was charming. The best thing I liked was their continental breakfasts, which consisted of a buffet of bagels, english muffins, fresh fruit, nature...

Me and my boyfriend were in Portland because of a family emergency and seeing as this reasonably priced B&B is located just down the street from Maine Medical Center where our family member was receiving medical treatment, we decided this place would be the best option. Our family LOVED this location and would certainly stay here again. The staff is courteous, helpful, and take pride in their work.
