Renter beware.... I booked a 4 night stay in December and due to COVID etc I had to cancel a month before my stay. Terri the front desk woman ( who sounded drunk) told me she was going refund my money and it would take 3-5 business days. I waited two weeks then called again and got Joe (the owner) on the phone. He said he would relay the message again to Terri . I waited another week and called again. I got Cheryl( the other owner) and I finally thought I was going to get my money returned. 25 minutes on the phone with her asking Terri where she had put my reservation, going through folders ( who had called out yet again that week) and basically telling me she was a bad hire , unorganized etc. etc. only to find out she had lost my reservation weeks prior and lied to me. Cheryl told me she had refunded me on line and was sending me a receipt via mail . I wasn't fully convinced she even knew how to but I waited yet again. Another week later I received nothing! Here's s a thought Cheryl …. fire Terri, learn how to refund your own customers money and hire a responsible, professional front desk employee that doesn't make you look bad , lose money and potential new business !…
We Called last minute for a room, because the first place we booked did not have heat in our room and it was definitely not what we were looking for, so we decided to call this place and the owner booked us a room and was super hospitable! The room was newly renovated and was gorgeous, we were so happy and can’t wait to go back again!
I stayed here for two nights in November ($85.00/nt). The room I checked into had heating issues (the lack thereof). When I went to the office to ask for an extra blanket, I was graciously upgraded to a newly renovated and updated room with a heat monitor at no extra cost. Room 11 was lovely, charming, and cozy. It has 2 comfortable beds, a large 75 inch flat screen TV, a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, cook top, Keurig coffee maker with coffee, toaster oven, sink and dishware. There is a sliding door to outside decking which overlooks beautiful Rangeley Lake. The bathroom was bright and held plenty of towels. The shower was large and had great water pressure. It is also conveniently close to town. I would come again!
The host was very gracious so I really wanted to give it a good review. I did not have high expectations, but for the price, which was $120.00 a night, I did not expect the strong smell of mildew, stained and ripped carpet, mice droppings under the sink, or a dead bug in the top drawer of the bureau. The mattress was very lumpy and uncomfortable. The location and view is great, the heat worked, and there was plenty of hot water for showers. It is right on the lake with kayaks and canoes to borrow, which would be great for families.
An old style family hotel with both rooms and cabins right on the lake. Bring your boat to put at their docks, borrow their paddle boats. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Your hosts live onsite and are fantastic.
