Incredible location with views over the scenic water front best sunrise I've watched! Safe and welcoming guidelines in place making you feel comfortable on your getaway. Staff was top notch Ruth, Jillian & Kade were very responsive and helpful. The amenities were wonderful and a nice touch for people looking to spend majority of their time in the room. It was extremely clean and overall would recommend to anyone looking to getaway for a while.

Hotel's Favourite
I've just returned from a 3 night stay in Rockland at this lovely boutique hotel. I live only an hour away, and normally stay with my daughter and family when visiting. But because of "social distancing", I chose to stay here and spend afternoons visiting them (outside!). Before I arrived, I was impressed with the communication about safety measures that this hotel has put into place to assure the health of their guests and their employees. They had specific instructions about how to check in (touch-free), their enhanced cleaning protocols, adherence to state policy about masks and social distancing for guests and employees. The rooms, lobby and all common areas were meticulously clean, as well as beautiful. It was so relaxing to sit on the rooftop lounge at sunset, with beautiful views of the harbor. (I wish I had the gumption to get up early enough to see the sunrise!) These are challenging times for all of us, especially for businesses that rely on tourism. And these are challenging times for travelers, too, with concerns about their safety when traveling. It was clear from talking to Ruth, the general manager, that she and her staff are 100 % committed to making their guests feel comfortable and keeping them healthy. I highly recommend that you stay here when visiting Rockland. Susan S.

Susie, It is so nice to know you. It was so flattering to hear that we were your first big outing in a while. And even more special that you felt safe & comfortable here. Your words of encouragement have uplifted us during these challenging times, as we are putting our all into making the world a new & more creative place. We definitely have done a lot of work, research & certifications with our hotel group, Migis Hotel Group, and other industry leaders to follow and set the bar for all hospitality regulations and guidelines. I have a feeling you'll be back soon, and I look forward to hearing more of your wisdom and supportive thoughts. Thank you for being an ally & advocate to local businesses. :) Your Friend, Ruth

I had found this hotel on Tablet hotels and was excited to try it, but ended up being pretty disappointed. The building itself and lobby were very nice, and the room was fine, although nothing special. The problem was that all of the extras and amenities ended up being let downs. The tv in the room was a 'smart' TV but only had cable, and you couldn't even access the channel guide- you had to look at a printout from the hotel. The TV then stopped working during my stay. The provided tablet in my room was left unplugged and was dead, but even after finally turning on, there was very little info provided. I was expecting that as a listed amenity, it would at least include some kind of guide to the town or restaurants. There was only one elevator that was very slow, so getting up and down from the top floor always took a little while. The roof was nice, but much smaller than expected. The biggest issue was the included breakfast- a yogurt, a cup of blueberries, and a piece of cheese. You also had to request that someone at the front desk go in the back in order to get a cup of coffee. I understand a basic boxed breakfast, but this one was just sad. The people were all very friendly, and maybe in normal times the social aspect and improved breakfast set-up would make this a more enjoyable experience, but I left feeling disappointed.

Hello, We are so very sorry to hear your stay wasn't perfect. While we are a very tiny hotel, only 26 rooms, we always strive to make a big impact. It has been more difficult during Covid - the state of Maine advises us to now keep our coffee station in the back so as to reduce communal contact. Our breakfast has always been a light continental, but the boxed presentation may have a limiting appearance. Separate from the boxes, we serve as many big, hot butter croissants and pain au chocolate as you can eat and fresh squeezed OJ - also hot oatmeal on request. Maybe these didn't appeal - we apologize. As for your TV - this should not have happened at all; our Smart TV's are capable of all the inputs and connectivity you should expect. The TV guide is certainly a digital function on the screen as well; it sounds like your setup needed attention; please accept our regrets. In future, rest knowing we are here 24 hours for you to troubleshoot through this and fix it. Since we somehow missed this opportunity, I want to make it right; I will personally reach out to you by email to correct the situation. I look forward to connecting with you. While we can't expand the size and scope of our property, we hope to make you feel as grand and important as you are to us! Thank you for giving us a try, and we promise many expansive and decadent changes, back to the way things were, as soon as the unusual world circumstances are over. All My Best, Ruth Woodbury Starr General Manager

A stunning property in an excellent location adjacent to downtown Rockland. The views from the rooftop are amazing and how cool is it to have a weather station on the roof? This hotel is so unique...but... Unfortunately the COVID policies of the hotel are uninviting, childish and absurd. The irrational response to COVID from this hotel borders on hypochondria and insanity. Hopefully they’ll lighten up in the future because it really is a wonderful hotel.

Hello Mr Gillespie, We are sorry for the confusion; it appears you visited us from Cleveland and Newark. There must be vast differences in the pandemic response protocol there. Please let us take a moment to clarify the Maine state Executive Orders for visitors and busineses - our governor imparts enforcable mandates on us here in Maine to keep our state healthy. We are so sorry these came as a surprise to you. The Executive Orders are constantly changing and you did visit during record cases, but concurrently, we do take the safety of our guests and staff very seriously. At the time of your visit, our governor had recently taken a statewide enforcable mask mandate a step further with an additional Executive Order that requires businesses in Maine's coastal communities to enforce the mask mandate inside our business or risk penalties. These legislations are known as EO 49 FY 19/20 and EO 16 FY 20/21. There are other restrictive policies in Maine as well at this time. We are happy you enjoyed the rooftop and the design features of our property and we thank you for the kind words regarding our amenities. We assure you, the Covid restrictions are temporary and we'd love to have you back. Meanwhile, we wish you luck through the pandemic and hope you can find the lightness and freedom that you seek until this is over. Stay Well, Ruth Woodbury Starr General Manager
