We booked this hotel for the convenience to the airport, and I was pleased with the room. It was clean, had a kitchenette, a good size television, and comfortable bed. The breakfast is typical fare, and appreciated. We didn’t get to swim due to the hours it is available. A newspaper in the lobby would have been a nice extra touch.
Another seamless stay that was perfect for a Portland-provisioning and friend-visiting stopover en-route home. Checking in and out was contact free thanks to the Hilton app, but staff was welcoming and available from afar as we came and went. The full-size fridge was perfect for stowing our perishables and the covered terrace was great for sharing a takeout dinner with a local friend. Everything was clean, comfortable and functional. The only downside was the plethora of guests ignoring the rules for indoor masking and elevator occupancy.
My sons and I recently stayed at the Home2 and truly enjoyed our stay! The room was large and clean, the pool was perfect for cooling and goofing off in. Jason at the front desk was extremely helpful, personable, and made our stay enjoyable. We will defiantly stay here again!
So I will say that the lady that checked us in was super nice. The breakfast place was nice and nicely stocked. People are irritating, but that is not the hotel's fault. The rooms were ok - but the floor was dirty. My socks were black after walking on the carpet for a night. But I did like the shampoo and body wash selection. However, the worst part is definitely the paper thin walls. We stayed just one night in anticipation of getting up in the morning to catch a flight. There was a family with a young kid and a baby. The kid and the baby screamed most of the night. It didn't help that the parents were also yelling at the kids and each other most of the night. I called to see if we could change rooms and the now-not-so-nice-desk-lady said we couldn't change rooms in the middle of the night (it was around midnight). I tried to explain our situation, but she could have cared less. It was absolutely miserable. We left in the morning exhausted. I will never understand why they put adults without kids next to people with kids. I understand if the hotel was completely booked, but it wasn't. I don't know how people would live here for work on a week by week basis. This is not a place I would stay again.…
Made reservations a year in advance for 21 nights starting June 14. I noticed the suite with extra bedroom wasn't up to par in cleanliness and decor, but was planning on being gone most of the time during the day and the hotel was totally booked. After a few nights there my husband broke out on both arms and legs. Complained to the manager with not much results. Didn't like his attitude. I made such a scene that they finally said pest control people would come next day which they did. We had to leave for the process and they "suddenly" found us a new suite. Meanwhile, we checked our old room since the door was open and found the sofa upended and the mattress and frame also upended. But it was too late....my husband was completely covered....quite an infestation of bedbugs.....thank goodness I had my allergy cream and meds with me! Even in the new room with all new bedding, we slept on top of the covers. It was a total nightmare....and was so embarrassing to keep explaining to people why he looked such a mess! He still has places that have not totally healed. We found out homeless people were being housed there. Figure it out....…
Abigail the supervisor at the Portland maine locations verbally accosted my husband and her co-worker. She was immature, abusive, unprofessional and abusive. We spent 2 days of our 3 day stay dealing with her nonsense and requested a call from GM Abraham on sat to date the following Friday we have not been contacted. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights 4 days. Spent $2300 and was offered $230 as compensation for the abuse we endured. Hotel housekeeping staff, and the other women at the desk were amazing. Marcia front desk should be the manager. Abigail should be fired. Management was not responsive, our concerns were not met with a solution worthy enough of what happened.
My car was broken into & robbed during the night. The hotel staff was no help. They refused to let us or the police officer who came to take our report watch the camera footage. There is a lot of foot traffic through the hotel parking lot. A hotel that houses the homeless on one side and a methadone clinic on the other. I also, brought my 4 kids down to the hotel pool at 9:30 (front desk staff & sign both say it opens at 9). A woman in the pool informed me that she was in the middle of a private swim lesson until 10. And that the pool isn’t available to guests until 10 during the weekdays. Which would have been nice to be told before getting my kids ready to swim.
Upon check in, we were told we could not check in until we had all the funds in our account. We were also told that we needed to have a $100 deposit on our room. We werent told this by our family member because the hotel she works in doesn't have this ridiculous policy. We haven't stayed in a hotel that has ever done this to us. And quite frankly, we may never return to Hilton due to this hotels poor customer service. We were in the area for our son's major surgery, this was the only thing we should have been worrying about, not whether we have a room or not. Housekeeping never grabbed towels or trash. The halls and elevator smelled heavily of food, not pleasant. The breakfast was not something to be desired. Overall a horrible experience.
If you like that 70’s roadside motel feel in a high rise building backed by Hilton, Home2Suites is for you! Smells like disinfectant so it must be clean, and someone in the building is likely playing loud music and/or the TV all night. Great news if you have an early flight- you won’t be sleeping anyway!
As soon as we entered the builing and boarded the elevator we encountered Gavin diligenly sanitizing and polishing every surface within. We knew immediately that this was a well run property with employees who take pride in their work. The rest of our two night stay did not disappoint, Our room and all of the common areas we encounterd were spotlessly clean. The only question I did not ask the staff was, why no de-caf coffee at breakfast?
