Great location for shopping and restaurants but the room itself was dirty. Candy found close to bed that hadn’t been picked up, dust bunnies under furniture and the soap dish in the shower was disgusting.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel is right across from the Maine Mall, and 5 min from Hannaford supermarket, so pretty much all the conveniences nearby. The signage to the hotel is hidden and not that noticeable behind the tall trees, they should really put the Hampton Inn sign right above the Enter sign. The desk clerks are very friendly and helpful. Due to covid, you need to reserve times for the pool (open 8 am - 10 pm) and fitness center (seems to be open all hrs). Love the heated pool and hot tub. The reservation system actually works well to limit crowding so you can enjoy your swim even more. Breakfast is included but there’s not much there’s. It’s mainly a continental breakfast except it also includes boiled eggs and yogurt. Limited pastry and cereal selection. Room was very comfortable, includes a chaise lounge and desk and a built in luggage rack (as well as a spare one). Location is great, easy to get onto highways and close to downtown Portland, can avoid the tolls. Really enjoyed the stay and would stay again.

Thank you for reviewing our property! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed our fabulous desk team, convenient location, heated indoor pool and hot tub, and comfortable rooms. We are now back to offering the complimentary hot buffet style breakfast that Hampton Inn is known for and we hope that you will visit us again soon to give it a try!

The staff was friendly and competent, especially during a holiday. The facility is a bit tired, in need of sprucing up. It was probably clean but the worn out items made it feel less clean. Breakfast was typical continental fare. Walls are pretty thin.

Couldn't have been happier with Hampton in South Portland Maine. Requested first floor room and it was close to the lobby and the coffee (coffee, tea in lobby 24 hrs). Nice clean room, with micro and fridge and big TV. Plenty of outlets. Soft sheets and towels. I like the Waterpick shower head, and they had plenty of hot water. Night light in the bathroom and you can turn the light on without the fan (not the case in many hotels). I had work to do so I didn't leave the room, but Maddie checked me in and out and she was nice and efficient. I loved the breakfast. Cheese omelet, coffee, and English muffin helped me get going in the morning. Good location near restaurants and shopping.Near the highway but still quiet. I would definitely stay again.

The outside of the property is very tidy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Convenient location close to all the Maine Mall shopping. 45 minute drive from Kittery Outlets The lack of 5 stars is due to A) Bed is hard as a rock and uncomfortable B) The room is not clean. The cord from the lamp had thick dust on in and the tv and lamps had dust as well. These may seem like small things but I can’t help but think if these things were missed what else has been. This has not been my typical experience at Hampton Inn so it’s disappointing. C) It’s in need of some updating for sure. No place by bedside table to plug in phone and TVs are really old as well.

We pulled into the parking lot and immediately smelled someone smoking weed. The elevators and hallways smelled of it too. The rooms were dark, dirty and dingy. We opened the door to our room to be hit with an overpowering smell of Frebreeze - not good for someone with sensitivities to odors! We could hear everything the people in the rooms next to us were saying. The bed was very uncomfortable and noisy. We were schedule to stay for 3 nights and checked out after the first night. Not worth $335 a night! The only plus was they let us checkout early and didn't charge us for the other 2 nights.

We stayed here for one night because we had an early flight the next morning. During the night, there were noises in the ceiling (not sure if it was a rodent or something else). In fairness to the hotel, they probably would have moved us to another room if I called the front desk, but since my wife appeared to be asleep and we had to get up at 3:45 am to catch our flight, I decided against it. However, my wife confirmed the next morning she also heard noises in the ceiling. To have to pay almost $300 for a substandard room is nonsensical. Just a few years ago, Hampton Inn was a great reasonably priced choice most anywhere and now that seems to not be the case. I will also note the bathroom had an odd odor.

Only stay here if jail is your only other option. $300 a night for a mold infested room. No excuse for the conditions. The health department needs to camp out here for a week. Worst place I have ever stayed.

This is a convenient hotel for the airport and for the city in general. It has good parking, good wifi and the rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is minimal. But, they use the noow, almost, thankfully, old covid excuse to provide no housekeeping at all. For stays of 1 or 2 nights, ok. But we were there for 5 nights, and they did not come by at all. Save money on the A/C and hire housekeeping people.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff was great, the breakfast was good, and the coffee was fresh. Free cookies and newspaper at the front desk. The only problem we had was that the hot tub area had someone's hair and bobby pins along the edge of the hot tub and leftover cans of soda. We left and came back the next night and everything was still there. We stayed for 4 nights and the hot tub was never cleaned. Aside from this, our room was clean and bathroom was also clean.
