It was a pleasure and our joy (3 ladies) to stay at the Harbour Cottage Inn for three nights. The house is beautiful, immaculate and totally inviting. Don and his staff are always ready to assist with any questions and made our stay very comfortable and unforgettable. The food is delicious with every attention to detail taken in providing a... My husband and I were delighted with our pleasant four night stay at Harbour Cottage Inn. Each day, the aroma of coffee greeted us, followed by a delicious breakfast prepared by the talented chef (one of the owners). Every morning, he prepared a new bakery item, fruit, and a unique entree. All were presented beautifully. Our cozy room was immaculate,... More

Charming cottage with lots of special details everywhere, in a nice and quiet spot. The owners friendly attention is very helpful in recommending places to visit. All mornings a delicious breakfast is waiting for you in a lovely dinning room, with cranberry scones and great omellets or pancakes. Definetely an excellent and romantic place to stay.

Harbour Cottage Inn far exceeded our hopes of a clean, quiet, and friendly place to stay, with plenty to do, but away from the crowds of Bar Harbor. About the essentials . . yes very clean rooms, nice bathrooms, plentiful parking, quiet setting, cozy common area, and great breakfasts. But what made Harbour Cottage most memorable and pefect was the... More

Jim and I spent 6 nights at the Harbour Cottage Inn B & B. The owners were gracious, pleasant, and kind. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. They were eager to help us plan our days, and had wonderful suggestions for dining. The rooms were clean, and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast menus were good... More

Our first visit to the Harbour Cottage Inn was to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We wanted everything to be special. The accommodations and ambience born of tasteful furnishings, tasty breakfasts, and knowledgeable innkeepers far exceeded our expectations...and we are seasoned travelers. We weren’t expecting to make the HCI an annual affair, but this year it will be for our 40th... More

We stayed here for a long weekend in the carriage house, which is a converted carriage house. It rained pretty heavily while we there so it was pretty loud at night. It's a great bedroom with kitchen and living space but the bedroom does lack some privacy to the living area because the walls don't reach the ceiling - a... More

As always we appreciate candid feedback and see it as an opportunity to be better. Overall this guest had a great stay and we appreciate that they chose to stay with us. The Carriage House cottage is one of our nicest and most spacious units. It has cathedral ceilings for a wonderful feeling of openness. The bedroom walls do in... More

Did someone really write a review complaining about staying in a working harbor town. For me, it was heaven...and I never heard any noise from the boats. Southwest Harbor is one of the few places where you can go and stay and enjoy being a part of the ebb and flow of the sea, with lobster boats coming and going... More

The building dates from the 19th century and while quaint, the room that we had was very small; we had no room to even put our suitcase on a stand. Breakfast both days was mediocre. Also, Southwest Harbor is a working harbor so be prepared to hear the harbor come alive not long after dawn.

One of the main reasons our guests choose to stay here in Southwest Harbor is for the quiet of a small Maine town combined with the uniqueness of a real working harbor. Add to that, direct access to Acadia and this lovely town truly becomes unique. The inn itself has rooms of all sizes and some are in fact more... More

My husband and I recently rented the Carriage House (part of the Inn) for our honeymoon and it was great! The spacious House has a very nice kitchen and living area--which also includes a fireplace! We truly enjoyed the serenity and privacy the Carriage House offered us. Each morning we woke up for Don's amazing breakfast! The food was fresh,... More
