Slightly put off when we arrived from outside didn't look too inviting but once inside it is totally different. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Everything was first class from meeting Lorna to the room spotless cracking bathroom with jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was great. Everything we ordered from great menu was brought to table no need to get up and down for extra tea or toast. Same with dinner beautiful dining room terrific service and food. We undoubtedly shall return to the Inn. (Very soon I hope.).

We were made to feel most welcome by the general manager Jack on our arrival who was friendly and knowledgeable. We were delighted to be upgraded to room 17 which was spotless, spacious and very well appointed with lovely views over the open fields nearby. We were on an excellent value 2 night deal which was booked directly with the hotel which included dinner bed and breakfast on both nights and tea and scones- all delicious! The bar area is cosy and welcoming with a wood burning stove enhancing the atmosphere. Particularly good that this is a dog friendly hotel-much appreciated! keep up the good work guys can’t wait to return!

My husband and I had a 3 night stay, with our small young dog. The plus side was that there was easy access to the grassed area outside so when our dog needed to go outside we could make a swift exit from the room. The room was a good size especially as we had a dog crate. Plenty of storage Bed was large and comfortable, we could control the room temperature which was a bonus. Bathroom whilst a little tired provided hot water and was clean so everything we needed. Breakfast was sooo tasty, plentiful and service was excellent. Would definitely stay again. Thank you 😊

From the minute I arrived at the Inn at Lathones I was made to feel very welcome by all the staff and this continued through out my stay. All staff were happy to chat and helped to recommend places to visit in the area. This hotel is in a great location for visiting St Andrews, Elie, Crail and many places on the Fife Coastal trail.
We picked this hotel due to its location but also because it was dog friendly. Dogs are allowed in the bar area (not the restaurant) & my Westie very much enjoyed his sausage cooked for him each morning!
On arrival my room was upgraded to one of the new modernised rooms which was beautifully decorated. The room was of a very high standard large and very well equipped with everything you need for your stay. My room even had a jacuzzi bath which was great to relax in after a day of exploring.
We ate breakfast in the hotel each morning which has an extensive selection. We also ate dinner in the hotels bar several times in front of the log fires. There is quite an extensive menu & the food was very very good.
We enjoyed our stay so much we will be back very soon .

Stayed for the weekend, absolutely loved it, we had bed and breakfast, the bed was huge and super comfy, rooms were warm and cosy very clean, tea coffee provided in the room, bathroom had big fluffy towels shampoo shower gel soap hairdryer iron and board provided. Breakfast a good choice we had full Scottish breakfast both mornings, which was excellent very tasty and well presented. The dining room for dinner is very pretty and charming with wood burners candles and fairy lights, food again was wonderful with a great choice and large potions. Dogs are welcome at this Inn. A truly lovely place to stay the staff are all lovely professional polite and friendly. Jack the manager goes out of his way to the guests welcome nothing is to much trouble for him, he is very cheerful and welcoming. We will definitely return in the future.

We stayed 4 nights DB&B 23 to 27 Nov. This was a delightful experience in a unique venue. The rooms are in cottages in a courtyard setting. Our standard double was spacious, with a king size bed (two singles bolted together but very comfortable nevertheless), TV with full freeview channels, and modern ensuite with bath, efficient overhead electric shower, and a mega heated towel rail. The main building is a traditional stonebuilt inn close by. It is very cozy with Breakfast Room, Bar, and Lounge with log burning stove. Bar prices are slightly upmarket high street, between £4 to £5 for pints or shorts with mixer. The Piece de Resistance is the restaurant which recently opened in the former stables. Very ambiente, with bar and an impressive log burning stove. All the staff were excellent, but particularly on the Friday night when Storm Arwen cut the electricity off in the entire area at 1750. They really stepped up to the plate and the Chef still managed to provide virtually the entire menu by flashlight on his gas cookers, and our meal was excellent in the Stables Restaurant by LED candlelights and the big log fire. Breakfast was cooked to order with generous portions. Good choices on the dinner menu, all delicious and generously portioned. Starter+Main+Dessert is a challenge! This off-season deal with myhotelbreak was excellent value for this unique venue. We'll be back! PostScript : Our stay was only impacted for one evening and night/morning by Storm Arwen. Other reviews here for subsequent nights are more critical, but the comments fail to fully appreciate the situation the hotel found itself in. With no electricity, the gas central heating will not work because the controls and pumps are electric. The very limited temporary electricity supply which was restored by the power company was totally inadequate to power anything other than some lighting, so still no central heating, hot water, or showers. Even if they had portable bottled gas heaters, these would be a no-no in the bedrooms in terms of fire regulations and health and safety. No hotel can be expected to have expensive infrastructure to accomodate a once in several decades weather event.

150 Open practise days, stayed Sunday through Tuesday. Very welcoming, hotel room s are very spacious, clean and tidy. The shower and bath facilities are excellant, spotlessly clean, with towels, soups, shower creams all in the room. Yea/coffee all ready and huge double bed again with spotless sheets and bedding.
The team make a huge effort to make everyone welcome, booked into the restaurant on arrival, quiet bar with plenty to choose from.
Overall a lovely peaceful play to stay 10 mins outside St. Andrews.
Room 16 floor is wood and does move when walked in to the bathroom, so very noisy but otherwise an lovely room to take.

It's a bit like putting lipstick on a pig and for the most part they are pulling it off. Interesting layout of rooms and generally pretty quiet if you get a room away from the road. This is a refurbish old country inn and from the outside it looks like it but inside the rooms are nicely updated. The high point for us was the quality of the food in their onsite restaurant. Given its location 6 miles from St Andrews I think their pricing is overly ambitious and I would not rate the value equation very hight

Visited here to celebrate our son’s 40th birthday weekend. We had 3 double rooms which were well stocked with toiletries and tea, coffee etc. Our room was spotless and the bed very comfortable. As it was summer the heating seemed to be switched off however we requested a heater as the room was a bit cool and it was brought immediately. We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was amazing. A great chef. Thanks to Jack, Jennifer and Laura for their attention and good humour. They are a great asset to Lathones. We’ll be back!

This was our first time staying here & it definitely won’t be our last. The location is great you’re a 10 minute drive to St. Andrews. The staff were so accommodating & very cheerful especially the male waiter in the morning serving breakfast :). The rooms were great for what you paid, the beds were extremely comfortable!! I was so impressed with the toilet in our room it was huge & looked brand new! Place was spotless.
There is a lovely sitting area in the bar / restaurant with a real fire- can’t beat it. We were there with our dog & it is very dog friendly he was able to join us at breakfast! Breakfast was fab, I’m sure it was £15 pp & you could choose from a starter whether it be cereal, porridge, granola then choose your breakfast & there was decent variety. We went for the Scottish breaky & it didn’t disappoint.

Hi - I got my hair for the wedding I went to done in St Andrews - the salon was called Spoiled. It was £30 for a wash and finish. If your wedding is in St Andrews itself I would recommend it.
