Seven for my grandson, 10 for my son, six for my brother in law’s. Dine Lakeside and enjoy most incredible delicious dinner. Check out their menu, every dish I assure you is great you’ll got to love this place!!!

I am the oldest of three sisters (52 yrs). Together we have children ranging in ages from 3 years old to 22 years old. Life is busy for all and don't get together as much as we would like. This was the perfect get-a-way destination. Each family had their own cabin including the grand parents. The cabins are rustic, clean and very comfortable. The views from the cabins are spectacular! My family stayed in cabin #1 which had 2 rooms one with bunk beds and the other with a queen bed. We went on exhilarating hikes (left the two little ones with the grand parents for the hike), kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming and just relaxed on the back deck that over looks the beautiful Lake Web. After the days activities we headed inside to the bar where you can choose from local craft beers on tap, a fine selection of wines or have your drink of choice. All over looking the sparkling lake. Dinner is a must! With 16 of us, there were a variety of entrees ordered from Vegan to a Carnivore's delight. Everyone raved about their order! The Duck wings, Crab cakes and scallops are a must appetizer & the Lobster Gnocchi entree had huge chunks of lobster and the Lamb chops were very tender. We were not expecting to get a Five Star dinner in the middle of Maine. This is what you would expect of a fine restaurant in NYC and at a much higher price. I can't say enough wonderful things about the Kawanhee Inn but one of the most impressive occurrences was that the 17 - 22 year olds as well as the parents, often left their phones in the cabin!! I strongly recommend if you want to reconnect with family, friends or just want to get away to relax go to Kawanhee and unplug!

This inn provides a throwback to a 1930's Maine woods experience and really delivers. From the moose head over the beautiful stone fireplace to the fabulous Lake Webb view, there is nothing fake here. During our first night, heavy rains produced a leak in our room. The staff moved us to another room the next morning. The dinner menu is surprisingly sophisticated, creative, and well prepared. Sliced duck breast on polenta and spinach with blueberry aguadolce and seared halibut over multi-colored quinoa were exceptional entrees. The inn also offers a well-stocked complementary continental breakfast. Will return again during dry weather!

This is our 2nd year staying at the Kawanhee Inn. My family lives in Scottsdale, Arizona and we stay at the Kawanhee Inn when we travel to Maine for our kids’ camp visiting day. We love to wake up to coffee and breakfast on the back porch as we watch the fog lift off the lake. After breakfast we crossed the lake by canoe for a morning workout. Tom, the Inn's very helpful and friendly manager, mapped out our daily plans. We started our outing by driving to Angel Falls for an easy hike. We then took a scenic drive to Rangeley for lunch and then headed to Little Falls for swimming. It was a great way to experience Maine’s outdoors. We had cocktails each evening on the Inn’s back porch. It was incredibly relaxing to sit in the Adirondack chairs watching the sun set over the lake. We were surprised how crowded the Inn restaurant was; bustling with Inn guests and locals! All of the tables were always booked so we were glad to have made reservations. The food was delicious and the portion so big that we were not able to finish our meals. We can’t wait to go back again next year!

My wife and I have been visiting Maine for the past 5 years as our son attends camp in the region and we have family in Portland, ME. We used to make the drive from Bergen county, NJ and now travel from Scottsdale, AZ. Every year we searched for a place to stay while attending parent's weekend. This was the first year we fell in love with a place that we’d want to go back to. Kawanhee Inn has it all. We arrived late in the evening to be warmly greeted by Thomas. While we put our luggage in the room, he prepared a quick dinner and cocktail that hit the spot. We were impressed with how quickly and nice the dinner was with the kitchen closing. The next morning we woke to a continental breakfast and socializing with others who had been at the Inn for a few days. Everyone was incredibly nice and engaging to help us plan our day. We did a great hike followed by a well deserved lunch at the local school converted into a diner. We headed back to our room to relax before walking down to the beach for a canoe trip around the lake. It was fun being on the water and seeing all the campers sailing around. It almost made us feel like campers ourselves. The evening was perfect. We sat on the porch drinking cocktails with the other guests before heading to the Inn’s restaurant. The staff was so nice and accommodating. We had a great meal to cap a terrific time. We can’t wait to go back again next year. Thank you for making it such a wonderful stay.
