We thought we had a good deal for a nice quiet place in Maine. WRONG! They wanted to charge more for a credit card so had to pay cash. Found out later that the hot water heater's pilot was out, so no hot shower! Had to wait an hour for Noman Bates to arrive and re-light the hot water heater....

My family and I ventured north - way north, past the turn in Ellsworth for Acadia and kept on going another hour or so. We were headed for an unknown but had to go. Winter Harbor is one of those towns off the beaten path for sure and just perfect for me. Life on the ocean with million dollar views...

We stayed at The Pines twice. First time, was in June of 2005, they were working on getting it ready for summer. Just my husband and I and we had a small cabin. limited tv but right on the road to the harbor. Next time was I think August of 2007. Had my stepson with us (an adult). we had...

This must have been a great spot once upon a time. It is pretty run down outside and there are only three rooms available for occupation. Outside the facility is in dire need of maintenance and a lot of repair. Management is not around and you get the idea the place runs itself. I made a reservation by telephone, got...
