Stayed at the Winthrop Motel for a week in November. The place was run down looking but the rooms were clean. Maid service came every other day even though we were told that they came every morning. Since we were not at the motel for the majority of our stay it suited our needs for a place to shower and sleep. It is a gorgeous location and the area is very nice, relaxing. This place is definitely a no frills, bare minimum place. The staff was very nice, when I called to make the reservation I had forgotten my credit card at home, so I told the manager I would call back. He told me that he would hold the room for 48 hours without a deposit, which I thought was very nice.

I have worked in hotels and motels about 26 years and have never heard of a places when it is 40 deg out side and 60 deg in your room that you cant have heat untill they turn it on at 6 pm. me and my husband traveled from nh to me to close up our camp for the winter we spent 2 hours out in the cold and was looking forward to taking a hot shower and injoying our heated room and tv well there was no heat and no remote for tv and no trash can and only 1 set of towels for 2 people and due to no heat we could not take a shower we paid $75.00 for alot of nouthing

I’m a retired Computer Network Administrator. WiFi is about the best I’ve seen in a motel. 80mbps download , and 70 mbps upload speeds. Good enough for anything, streaming Netflix, YouTube, gaming, anything that you like. Solid connection, not prone to dropping or disconnections. Manager Jonathan is attentive, relaxed and easygoing with a good attitude, friendly and professional. Bad reviews are often old, dated and not very reliable. It is not, repeat, not dangerous at all and I should know as I’m from Oakland, California, the land of drugs and murder. I like this place. Am staying here so as to find a permanent home. You can’t go wrong staying here.

We booked this motel through another website. The picture looked nothing like the actual place. The sign has burnt out lights and peeling paint. There were mattresses and old furniture outside some of the rooms. The we're broken down cars in the parking lot. I was very afraid. Luckily a short ride up the road brought us to the Hampton Inn in Augusta ME. It was impeccably clean with a nice pool, exercise room, lovely decorated rooms and a Margaritas next door. The staff were friendly and courteous and the free breakfast had fresh fruit, make your own waffles, eggs as well cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and drinks. Loved it.

Snakes in the rooms. And I have pics. No coffee. The owner dosent pay the bills.the new manager is a drunk...... he's as lost as the day is long unless he has beer. I don't know why they even hired him. And fired the good manager. The cable and internet gets shut off. They run out of oil every other week. The beds are broken down. Windows have cracks in them. The trash piles up cause he won't pay the dumpster bill. This place shouldent even be called a motel. It should be called a hell hole.... and to think about it I saw the business license on the wall in the office and it was expired. ... what a poor exuse for a motel........ this place sucks stay away!!!!!!!!!

i thought this place was ok when i first got there. the manager seemed nice the room not great but not horrible. the problems started after a few days. you cant use a hair drier, microwave, hot plate, or anything else because it will trip the electricity and you will be without power. when you call to ask manager to turn it on you get an attitude and told not to cook. none of the drains work both the tub and the sink, you have to empty them with a bucket. if you ask the manager to have them fixed she threatens to kick you out. the pictures i have seen online are not accurate none of the rooms i have seen are in near as nice of shape. she says there is WiFi but only if you go sit in the office. she charges you more than she is supposed to and pockets the extra cash. she writes you a receipt from one book and keeps another set of books that she shows the owner. some very sketchy people live there including sex offenders and almost everyone, including the manager, use drugs. cops are there all of the time. leaving that dump was the best day of my life!

These professional pictures are from when I used to clean/manage/run the place in 2009. These have not been updated as Im sure neither has the actual property itself. Its a shame to read all these negitive comments after working so hard on trying to keep this property up. I feel sorry for anyone that has had a unpleasurable stay here.

I stayed here a long time ago it seems.I stayed in December I think 2010. The room was very comfortable and I had a great time and relaxed. I came back to stay and the house keeper was no longer there and that made me feel a little upset. I liked the service, it was kind of a homestyle atmosphere, with the prepared meals and the cleanliness. I called to make another reservation. When we arrived at the motel, I was very dissapointed. I was hoping to see her again! I will never forget her smile and her personality! I wonder where she is now! I found another motel up the road, so I could maybe find her there! Details about the motel, I did not stay to say!

The first 2 nights I had heat, after that cold, cold, cold, could not sleep cause it was cold..even with shoes on, the manager said he would take care of it....ended up going to Augusta so I could get some heat, manager did not offer apology and refused refund for days that I did not stay, which had been paid in advance. Room was dirty, bought supplies and cleaned it myself, asked for clean towels after two days of no room service, manager gave me his towels...ewww....the place was cheap, but come on, broken down mattress, chairs came apart if you set in them, and table top very loose, was afraid to use it, no shade on table lamp, microwave door was cracked....just terrible!

My family and I had to rent a room for 3 weeks while we were waiting to move our mobile home to be moved. They were extremely nice and helpful. I have never experienced such great customer service in my life as I experienced there. I would recommend any one to go and spend the night or spend as much time as they need their. You would not be disappointed.
