We stayed here several years ago. When I was looking for a place to book for an overnight and came across the Wiscasset Woods Lodge, my immediate thought was ‘Oooh…breakfast!’ Don’t get me wrong…their rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Their staff is friendly and helpful. But it was breakfast from the last visit that propelled me to booking them for this one. Sure enough, when we wandered in after a good night’s sleep, it was as I remembered. Freshly scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, and all the things you’d want on your plate besides. AND….peach raspberry cobbler. It was so good I went back for seconds. So stay here. You’ll be comfortable, well fed and happy.

We had a family reunion and this Lodge was only 10 minutes away.
Person at the front desk was friendly and pleasant.
Very clean room and bathroom. When entering the room there was a machine to circulate the air with a fresh scent and there was no musty smell at all.
Free breakfast was made fresh, which included homemade blueberry muffins. Coffee was great, as were the choices for breakfast. The menu changes slightly if you stay a few nights.
The Lodge is on a main road, but at night it was very quiet. They have picnic tables and barbecue grill if you wanted to cook out. A grocery store is less than 2 miles away.
Perfect spot to stop and see what the Mid-Coast of Maine has to offer.
We will definitely stay here the next time we come North.

I stayed at Wiscasset Woods Lodge because it is located close enough to Popham Beach for me to arrive early and be able to get a parking space. The staff was very pleasant, and the room was clean and in good condition. Full breakfast, including scrambled eggs and sausage, was served to my table by a very friendly cook in a lovely dining area. There was also a delicious looking blueberry buckle, which I discovered too late - and then I was too full!
Wiscasset Woods Lodge is a very nice alternative to big box motels. The only negative is that it is located quite close to a busy section of route 1. There was a lot of traffic noise, but it quieted down later in the evening and didn't interfere with a good night's sleep. An additional building is set further back from the road, and the units in that building may be quieter.
There's a nature trail in the woods behind the motel, which I didn't have time to explore. I plan to return next year - and walk that trail!

My husband and I needed a place for one night near Wiscasset, Maine. In searching out places to stay the Wiscasset Woods Lodge was at the top of most searches. I chose it because it wasn't a run of the mill generic chain and, in comparison to the boutique bed and breakfasts in the region, was affordable. The description of early 20th century cabins connected to appear as a motel is spot on. The advantage is that you cannot hear your neighbor. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said of the constantly busy coastal Route 1. That, however, is no fault of the establishment, and could be rectified with a set of earplugs. Other than road noise, our stay was perfect. The cabin was tastefully updated, but still woodsy. It was immaculately clean. The continental breakfast was served outside as per coronavirus safety measures. The owner was right there chatting with guests and provided a really nice sense of welcome.

I grew up in Wiscasset and have visited often but I never stayed overnight there after I left until 2021. That trip I stay at Wiscasset Woods Lodge for 2 nights after 4 nights in Portland. It was so nice that this year a stayed there all 4 nights that I was in Maine. The cabins are large, clean, and very comfortable. The mobility challenged one that I require was perfect for my power chair and walker.
The location is perfect for day trips up and down the coast without paying outrageous prices for a water view. They are no longer locally owned but are managed by a 4th generation native.
I had a great visit and can’t recommend this place strongly enough.

Stayed here recently for a visit to Wiscasset. I reserved a cottage room. The room was nicely decorated and I enjoyed having a private porch to relax in the evening. If you keep the window open, you will hear road noise, but I didn't find it overbearing (I live on a busy street). The free breakfast is really good. With their Covid protocols in place, you can't eat breakfast in their dining area, but I didn't mind picking up my breakfast and eating on one of the picnic tables. I loved that they provided choices. Best free breakfast I've ever had at a hotel.
My one gripe is the shower head. Neither myself, nor my friend in his room could adjust the shower head to get a spray. Upgrading to good shower heads would not only provide a good shower, but save water and energy ($).
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would definitely try to stay here the next time I visit here.

Stayed there in June. Had a cold rainy weekend but the heat in the room was awesome, you control the thermostat and the room heated up in 5 minutes. The breakfasts were good, and there enough gluten free offerings for me to be satisfied. A nice place to gather with friends and it’s not far from Boothbay and Damariscotta for shopping and many other great locations. Nice restaurants in Wiscassett.

I stayed for 6 nights with my sister in the adjoining rooms, 2 bed 2 bath. It was perfect. The table for food, mini-fridge, and coffee maker were in my room and she had the smaller bathroom. A comfortable couch was also in my room. We were there primarily to go to the beach every day and eat lobster and other seafood as much as we could! Which we did. This hotel is small and very comfortable. The breakfast is amazing with hot and cold choices, a couple fruits, sweet and savory. With respect to covid, food is delivered to your room hot and ready in brown paper bags. The breakfast was so delicious and plentiful that we brought only fruit and water to the beach, which held us over to dinner. Also due to covid, we did not have our room serviced at all, but we received abundant fresh towels whenever we asked. You are asked to fill out a sheet the night before for breakfast and supplies and all are delivered at the time of your choice in the morning. The staff is amazing! From the front desk to the folks who delivered our breakfast and supplies each morning. Kudos to them! The fire pits were used most nights by families with children, and there were lots of mosquitoes, so we did not partake. Nor did we walk on the path, again, due to bugs. But we were not there to stay at the hotel but to enjoy midcoast Maine. Yes, the hotel is on a very busy road, Rte. 1. You may need to wait 5 minutes before taking a left turn. But it is very convenient to all sorts of fun. If you want a resort style hotel, this is not it. But it is a great place to stay to do all the fun things that midcoast Maine offers, with friendly and attentive staff. We will return.

I had a wonderful stay at Wiscasset Woods Lodge. The check-in was very easy, the owners had set up a tent outside the office due to the pandemic. Breakfast was served every morning, either by picking up or delivery to your room. There is plenty of parking. I stayed in the cluster of room in the front; unfortunately road construction started early on Friday morning! The rest of my stay was quiet . As for my room, it had everything needed for a vacation: refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and supplies, air conditioning and heat, very clean bathroom with a hairdryer, shower with a seat, tv and comfortable bed. Couldn't ask for more! Everyone that I met was friendly and welcoming. I will be staying here again on my next visit.

We chose this place because of the reviews, especially for their breakfasts. It was quite a disappointment. They still require masks and do not serve breakfast in their dining room. You order off their menu and then you either have to pick it up to bring back to your room, or they will deliver it to your room. Either way, it's not convenient nor hot. And, they don't understand the concept of "hot" water for tea. The room was clean but the pillows were awful. We would stay here again.
