Bittersweet B & B is a gem in York. This lovely house is located away from the noise of Short Sands Beach, but close enough to York Beach, Nubble lighthouse and Ogunquit that the choices of restaurants and activities is endless. The first thing we noticed as we drove in were the gardens. It was July and everything was in...

My fiance and I recently stayed here for a couple of days over the holiday weekend. This is a converted house with a gorgeous yard and landscaping. Met the owners of course and they were as friendly and down to earth as could be. The place is immaculate. We came down to breakfast the next morning and it was as...

I can't say enough (good things!) about this bed and breakfast: it's a beautifully restored farmhouse and gardens in a great location, the hosts were fantastic and the breakfast divine! Bacon, eggs, coffee, fruit juice and fresh blueberry muffins... yum! yum! The rooms, and the whole house, are beautifully decorated and very, very comfortable. We were lucky to get two...

This adorable Inn was immaculate, and located a short walk from a stunningly gorgeous beach/marsh as well as Short Sands beach town. Our hosts graciously and tirelessly waited on us seven siblings who were in town for a memorial to our recently deceased mom. Sitting on the front porch, smelling the irises and prim-roses in full bloom in the June...

One word that stands out over everything: CLEAN! This was the cleanest establishment we have ever stayed at. You can tell they take pride in their business. We only did an overnight for our anniversary but we will definitely be back. Breakfast was scrambled eggs and bacon with a warm fresh blueberry muffin. I highly recommend this b&b! For the...

Victor and Ray are great host. Bittersweet is very clean and comfortable. It's a nice location close to the light house and beach. The house and rooms are kept up very well and it shows. The nice porch out front is a nice place to have a glass of wine and it feels like home. The rooms do not have...

I just finished a 3-night stay here with my wife, sister-in-law and her husband. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We liked the rooms, the owners and the location. It's not right on the beach, but Short Sands is an easy walk down the road and the value for the location was good. The host's were very helpful and friendly....

We needed a room for one night and I found Bittersweet through Tripadvisor. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was the last available and while small, it was beautifully decorated and comfortable. Our hosts were great. Victor makes an excellent breakfast, including homemade blueberry muffins which were wonderful. The B&B is within walking distance of a couple of good restaurants...

We recently went to Maine for a few days and stayed at the Bittersweet B&B. We had a great experience - the room was comfortable, breakfast was delicious, inn keepers were sweet and accommodating, and the location was perfect. Having never been to Maine, we were also happy with our decision to stay in York. It is such a quaint...

The Bittersweet is an adorable little B&B. The bedrooms were cozy, clean and comfortable, offering a great night sleep. We were served a scrumptious breakfast on the veranda which included freshly baked blueberry muffins, bacon, scrambled eggs, orange juice and fresh fruit. Victor and Ray were perfects hosts. We had a lovely stay and hope to return in the fall....
