We've stayed at The Inn at Mitchell House for three nights and it was absolutely wonderful. The innkeepers Tracy and Jim were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Tracy had lots of great suggestions what we could explore and the breakfast was really good. The inn is beautifully located about 10 miles out of Chestertown. The grounds are lovely, with a...

My children stayed here in July for our family reunion. We dropped them off, and paid for the rooms, so we saw the inside of the house, and their rooms. The house is very cozy. Rooms were a great value and were very nice. The grounds are beautiful, with a pond and fountain. The innkeepers were extremely friendly and helpful!...

My husband and I had a lovely very relaxing stay at the Stone's Throw Cottage. Cute, cosy little cottage which is close enough to walk to the Inn for breakfast but far enough away to feel secluded and private. Hosts Jim and Tracy were gracious, welcoming and informative about local things to do. Both our breakfasts were delicious and we...

With family connections in nearby Chestertown - this is our ideal "Inn/home destination" when visiting the beautiful Eastern Shore of MD. The hosts, Jim & Tracy Stone, are gracious and welcoming and we LOVE little touches like fresh pots of coffee from 7 A.M. on - or ice easily accessible at 11:00 P.M. Breakfasts are THE BEST with garnishes from...

Travelling with the family, we stayed in the Stone's Throw cottage, which is an immaculately kept little house on the expansive and beautiful property. It was nice to have a full kitchen to prepare meals, but the food at the main house was delicious! History abounds as the main house itself dates to the 1800's and was intimately involved in...

We spent a delightful night at the Inn at Mitchell House. We had wrongly thought that it was in the town of Chestertown but is, in fact, about 10 miles away in a secluded area. However the hosts, Tracy and Jim, made us very welcome and have done a brilliant job in restoring a "great house" of the 18th century,...

We are always excited to meet fellow history enthusiast. Our location can be a bit confusing - being outside of Chestertown and located on Maryland Parkway which is actually a gravel driveway. Hopefully the peaceful country setting and being only a half mile from the Bay makes up for it.

We had a delightful weekend at The Inn at Mitchell House. Jim & Tracy were great and the breakfast were first rate. Bird watching at Eastern Neck Wildlife Refuge was beautiful and the Farmers market was fascinating.

No need to pull shades at night, there is not a house in sight! We watched spring bursting out all around us, enjoyed a comfortable bed and two delicious breakfasts. Jim and Tracy are friendly and helpful hosts. Ignore the two boisterous golden retrievers or else they will love you to death! Speaking of death . . .don't miss dessert...

Innkeepers Tracy & Jim Stone were most friendly throughout our stay; period appointments at the Inn dating from the 18th and 19th century. What a history! The grounds are immaculate and rolling hills provide a fabulous view of the country side. The Inn itself is spectacular, each room different from the other and all cozy and inviting. Would most definitely...

My then fiance and I went to the Inn at Mitchell House in August of 2009. We had a wonderful time, and found the host and hostess to be absolutely amazing. During our stay we became familiar with what we were told were sea nettles (jelly fish) that live in the Chesapeake Bay. After our encounter in which we both...

Thanks so much for staying with us. Jellyfish are usually not a problem where we are, only during a dry year because of the salinity. We hope to see you soon! Jim & Tracy
