We stayed here for one night, having decided to make a taxi-trip to Heathrow into a short break. The Inn itself was cosy and welcoming, with a good selection of very nice meals available. Our room was quiet, nicely furnished and comfortable. Our host was welcoming and we enjoyed the breakfast included in the overnight price. Excellent accomodation. Using the...

Easter Sunday and we thought we might not find a decent place to eat in the local area as everyone would be booked up and we had been walking around for quite a while this day deciding on what to do. My better other half managed to get us in this pub after it had been recommended to us by...

We ate out here yesterday and it is a cosy welcoming pub. There was a lovely open fire and the menu was quite diverse. There is a lighter bite section as well as a full main menu so plenty to choose from with the specials on offer. Dogs are welcome and the front garden is beautiful to sit in when...

Haven't been here for a few years but wanted somewhere local to go for lunch and it came to mind. It was a lovely day so we could have sat outside but with our 5 month old grandson we decided to sit inside. It was 3pm so the main Sunday lunch rush was over but it was still quite busy....

Sort 5 mile stroll with the family before a pub lunch and very pleased with the end result. Good menu, nice specials board & good deserts. Will. Certainly be going back at some point in the near future.

I called to make a booking for Mothers Day a number of weeks ago. As the line was bad, we called the following day to confirm the booking. I arrived today with my family only to find no booking held and no apology on offer. The customer service, or complete lack of it from Cheryl was appalling

Sad to read a review about your unfortunate experience. We were, as you can imagine, full to the rafters on Mother’s Day. All our bookings are and were checked and double checked. Cheryl is a popular, professional and excellent customer relations member of my team therefore, I find your vitriol towards her unfair and unfounded. Cheryl worked hard to accommodate...

We visited in a large friends and family group. The Cherry Tree is a traditional pub in many ways, with exposed beams and wooden floors, but it has been decorated in a modern style so everything feels fresh and bright. The sunday lunch was excellent, with large portions of thick cut, pink beef and a wide range of other dishes...

The pub is well placed, comfortable and friendly. We went there for Saturday lunch which was good and good value. There was a good menu and a choice of eating in the bar or restaurant. The service was good and friendly. We'll certainly be going back.

We were taken here by friends and had a lovely lunch. The service was very good and the food delicious. We had mussels and I must say that they were some of the best I have had. We were visiting a National Trust house nearby in the agternoon. I did not stay overnight at this inn.

Excellence food, crab and crayfish over the world could not have asked for more, will go again to try wild boar next time. Friendly staff don't push you to order, told many friends to go there and try it won't be disappointed I'm convinced.

Thank Kelvin L

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Beautiful pub/inn/restaurant in Stoke Row, in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside in the Chiltern Hills. Elegant, chic design gives a warm, inviting feeling and the overall ethos of The Cherry Tree is one of comfort, enjoyment and relaxation. Food is key here with bi monthly menu changes of seasonal produce. Well kept beers, fantastic wines and great champagnes make this a place for a weekend away with a loved one, catch up with friends or equally happy catering for corporate groups. Likewise, it is a wonderful local pub in a beautiful Oxfordshire village. Four en-suite letting rooms in the barn are fresh, crisp, elegant and clean and most comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience and not to be missed if in this part of the country. There is a definite air of class about this place and the London set flock to it in droves for a great country fix. ... more   less

Henley on Thames

Dear Sir/Madam,

Many thanks for your comments on Trip Advisor. As local regulars it is with concern that I hear of your experiences at the Cherry Tree. We are a Brakspears pub therefore our beer supply, offer, and deliveries all derive from them. We always stock their ‘best’ bitter and vary the other pump. The seasonal ales are very popular but somewhat erratic in supply, so we stuck with Ringwood which is proving popular until we get our 3rd pump put in which will allow a much better offer across the board. However, in reference to your comments about running out, I’m not aware of ever running out of both lines, ever!

We stock at least 3 types of gin, Gordons, Bombay and Hendricks, so if we have ever run out of one we always have at least 2 others to offer. We are now stocking English Chase Gin to broaden the offer.

Our wine list has 4 red wines by the glass and 12/14 red wines to offer in total, so not having a good red on offer would be unlikely. There was a very small cross over when we changed our list 2 months ago, so if there was a bit of disruption i can only apologise but i hope you made the best of some great bin end deals!

Our draft Thatchers was a problem over a few weeks when it was on and off, which was a technical issue and very frustrating so apologies once again. However, we stock Bulmers, Rekordling, Addlestones Cloudy and Aspalls ciders by the bottle to hopefully fulfill the cider drinkers.

If we ran out of Guiness it may be that we struggled to maintain a consistent offer when we swapped over from Brakspear Black, back to Guinness, due to lack of interest in the Brakspears brand; this was some months ago.

Your comments are really appreciated and taken on board but we try our very best to maintain a good, interesting offer across the board and running out would not ever be the scenario that both parties would enjoy!

Please drop me a line as I don't believe we've spoken before and i would love to get your comments on a new ale and perhaps sample a few gins!!

Many thanks,

Mr Douglas Green
