Stayed here for one night for a wedding. Room was clean and comfortable (could have done with better pillows and pillow protectors). Decent sized bathroom with shower over bath. Breakfast was very good with excellent produce. For the price paid, nothing to complain about. Slight confusion at check out which could have been avoided if the hotel had a better...

We booked a 2 night stay here with another couple so we could explore the Chilterns and this hotel is in a great location. We arrived on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and had a pleasant enough lunch before checking into our rooms. Our room was a good size and the bathroom had been recently refurbished, with a great shower....

This place is full of charm and bags of character. Just 4 miles outside of Henley-on-Themes. The hotel is set in a beautiful village, church, store, butchers and not much else. Apparently Midsummer Murders was filmed here, no t sure if that's a reason to stay or not, but it is beautiful. The hotels has all the charme of a...

We ate here after a disappointing meal at a smart hotel. We were glad we did: the food was excellent, good value for money and the staff friendly and helpful. As a result we ate there again the following evening. Different choices, as good as before. There are smarter gastropubs close by, but I doubt their food is any better,...

For the price I would have expected a little more. Room was clean & tidy though. Staff did their job (just) and that was about it. Nothing more and definitely not service with a smile which is a shame. Wouldn't rush back if honest. Beautiful area though.

The venue itself has a nice beer garden and a vintage feel interior. We went to sit outside and asked the waitress to take our order whereby she was extremely reluctant to do so as she wanted us to order at the bar even though there was hardly anyone there but didnt explain why but said she would do it...

Stayed for one night whilst doing the local Chiltern Valley brewery tour. The pub is a cosy old village inn. The room was comfortable and clean if a little dated. Shower room compact but spotless with plenty of towels and toiletries. Room lacked a full length mirror and due to being directly over the locals bar was a little noisy...

Stopped here with my husband and parents on Friday to have a causal lunch. The pub was busy which of course is always a good sign. Friendly staff greeted us. The food was delicious and wine a good price. The was only one thing, at the end of the meal we were finishing our drinks, there was no staff to...

I found this property by chance when looking for somewhere to stay near the Henley Festival. This was a business trip so I didn't do much research and simply hoped for a clean, comfy room. This was so much more - what a find! Oozing with charm and character, a spacious enclosed garden, a beautiful room with extremely comfortable bed,...

Can't get more English than this cute little pub in Hambleden. The building itself is quite old but has so much character. I had the chicken breast with ham and cheese and it was very tasty. Crispy golden chips were the accompaniment and I usually hate fries, but I finished all of them on my plate! A great little spot...

Nestled into the Chiltern Hills, between Henley and Marlow and just up from the River Thames, The Stag & Huntsman, lovingly restored, maintains the old world charm of a village pub. With a focus towards the local community - Hambleden and the local residents - the myriad of small and cosy drinking and eating spaces within the pub, the nine letting bedrooms and the pretty garden also provide a resting place and watering hole for those who travel further distances to the village. ... more   less
