Our family met at The Inn for a weekend. We more very comfortable in the spacious rooms. The kitchen was cozy and colorful. It felt as if we were at home. The bountiful breakfast was delicious and served with a personal touch. The beds were comfortable and we sleep very well. The decor was warm and welcoming.

This was at the end of our bike trip on the GAP and by far, the best B&B experience we have had. Gail was warm and welcoming. We stayed in George's room. It was large and comfortable with a very large bathroom...no need to wander into the hallway to take a shower. Location from the trail was a little far,... More

This was about midpoint of our bike ride from Pittsburgh to DC. This was the best of all the B&Bs we stayed at along the way. Again, if you don't have a car it is a little hard to get to from the trail (you have to cross multiple train tracks which can be blocked) but Gayle was an excellent... More

I did a through trip from DC to Pittsburgh in September starting the day after Labor Day. Gail, the proprietor of this inn, also operates a touring company for trail travelers called Mountainside Bike Tours. She helped me lay out my trip and arranged lodging and meals. She did an awesome job and could not have been more helpful and... More

Stayed in George's room which was quite spacious. Big breakfast was served with lots of local touches. Outside the breakfast area was a porch with city views. The map of Cumberland in the 10th ed. of the GAP/C&O Trail Book that we were using is wrong which led us astray in getting to the Inn. Rely on Google riding/walking directions... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights at the Inn on Decatur which was a happy upgrade for us as our reservation was at her other property across the street. When it became became fully occupied for the first night, we were treated to the Inn and then she even included the second night and a luscious breakfast. All of... More

5 of us bicycling down the GAP stayed here and we were very impressed. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our bike were stored in a locked area as well. We had use of a washer and dryer for $4 and the breakfast our host made for us was excellent.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I would like to note that you stayed in our new property 9 Decatur Guest House. The Inn on Decatur is a full bed and breakfast whereas the guest house is and economical version of lodging. Clean and comfortable. Guests can choose the breakfast option as you did. Hope to see you again. More

Gail owns 2 properties: the inn and the guest house. We stayed in both. We needed 2 nights and the inn was booked one of those nights so we stayed in the guest house one night and the inn the other. The guest house is inexpensive but very clean and adequate. The 2 lavatories (toilet and sink) and 2 showers... More

Thank you for the kind words and suggestions. We were going to go with the 2 full baths that would have been larger but we liked the idea that one guest could be showering while another was using the lavatory...creating 4 private areas for use. As we expand to the first floor we will add larger baths. We had also... More

Gail was the most wonderful host we have ever met, warm kind and ran us around in her car to places we wanted to visit. She also suggested places to visit and arranged our bike hire. Gail serves an excellent (if excessive) breakfast. I found the bed too soft, but others might like it. Its a creaky old house, and the trains are close by, so bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper. See my other comments under Connellsville Bed & Breakfast.
